I loved #DeepRootedTree and love your description of it as a hagiography 💯, but I wouldn't say it's of a type with the 'contemporary historicals' that air on CTV. Especially because from what I've seen & read they are all very unglamorous & centred on ordinary people living ordinary lives

This was the year I finally watched the famous sageuk, #DeepRootedTree. Nominally about the creation of the Korean alphabet, it is an intricately plotted mystery that also depicts actual Joseon history, and often with unexpected humor.
