That has been well known since the Gingrich #GOPshutdown in the 90s, so that would not so much be a House and Senate MINORITY Leader problem, as it is a "voters need to stop listening to GOP/Populist ops -- they don't even have to listen to Dems, just do math" problem.

If the Senate passes something, @msnownews.bsky.social is reporting it would be Monday before the House could.vote on it because they need 72 hours to report for duty. 🤷‍♀️

I envy the people who would not be affected by another #GOPshutdown.
Many of those who say they would not be, are either misinformed or lying.

If MEANINGFUL results can be achieved by such a shutdown, do it. Even if it hurts me. Because it will likely not KILL me like ICE kills.

But I would say, #USdemocracydied a little when the Whitewater nothingburger set the tone, and the #VastRightWingConspiracy punched a permanent hole through the "Liberal Media" lie. When it culminated in the Gingrich #GOPshutdown, the 1986 Norquist Pledge finally drowned us.
