FREE SMOKE DETECTORS FOR KIDS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
It is not uncommon for a child with special needs, especially intellectual challenges, to be afraid of loud noises. This includes the sound emitted by an activated smoke detector. For these families, fire prevention specialists recommend that the families acquire voice-alert smoke detectors. The voice-alert smoke detector replaces the “scary” noise with a calming voice that provides instructions regarding the smoke detectors alert.
Courageous Kids Climbing has received special funding to purchase these voice-alert smoke detectors and provided them free of charge to affected families. The smoke detectors are available to families in New Meadows and throughout Valley County. These smoke detectors have been purchased at a reduced price thanks to the support of Franklin Building Supply in McCall.
Families interested in obtaining the voice-alert smoke detectors should contact Jeff Riechmann at Courageous Kids Climbing. Jeff can be contacted at courageouskidsclimbing@gmail.com.
