A8: I recently attended a rally for my union, so I have been really interested in learning more about the labor movement and the history of unions in America. As a 3rd Gen educator and union member, I feel as though I need to learn more! For space, I included the covers below. #SlowChat #TLSkyChat
A7: CANDY! My students will do anything for a jolly rancher or lollipop, so I incentivize candy as a prize for anything as simple as completing self-directed programming and reading challenges. I also have had a free book of their choice as a reward (thrifted of course)! #SlowChat #TLSkyChat
A6: I finally had time to “Dewey Decimate” my nf collection (stole that phrasing from a librarian on TT), where any outdated title regardless of circ had to go! My nf now looks so clean, organized, and RELEVANT (plus my kids have been noticing it more!) #SlowChat #TLSkyChat
A5: A “niche” genre that is trending in my library is Young Teen Lit! The @youngteenlit.bsky.social team puts together amazing resources for young teen readers, and my middle schoolers can get enough of those titles, especially now that I have spine labels for them! #SlowChat #TLSkyChat
A4: My PL sent me a flyer that included all of their offerings to students, and I included it as an “ad” in my monthly library newsletter for families! I am lucky that my PL is two blocks away from my school, so my students are very aware it exists and that they can patronize! #SlowChat #TLSkyChat
A3: Luckily, my students were taught about Sora by my district’s elementary librarians, so they already have the skills needed to use the application! I always book talk books that can be found both in the library and on Sora for my ebook and audio readers. #SlowChat #TLSkyChat
A2: I have a reading challenge I do with my students year-round that they can be working on, called the Olympian Reading Challenge. They have their 3 years in MS to read 30 books on my challenge list, they get prizes for reading 5 (bronze), 15 (silver), and 30 (gold)! #SlowChat #TLSkyChat

I just inherited a middle school library from a wonderful librarian who unfortunately lost her fight with cancer. I really didn't want to make major changes, so my refresh is adding throws from home over the duct-taped furniture and decluttering without changing the "feel". #TLSkyChat

I’m a little worried about this for my novel in prose and verse, HeartLand, that’s coming out in July. I worked to make the prose chapters short, and hope that the white space and fun-shaped poems will help to offset the fear of the page count. Fingers crossed. #TLSkyChat
