Now blooming: Type-B “Bacon” Avocado tree… I think this is the male flower. We also have a Type-A “Mexicola” Avocado but it isn’t blooming just yet. When the “Bacon” has male flowers open, the “Mexicola” will have female flowers open and vice versa. Avocado tree flowers are neat. #Yarden #Avocado

#HappyStDavidsDay Said before I really like Tête-à-tête* ,they are compact, punchy and have the simple trumpet structure I prefer. I'm not a fan of doubled and tripled flowers. They are a good yellow too, it's almost the lead yellow of the Mk1 Golf. #bloomscrolling #yarden
Spent a couple of hours fettling the #Yarden last year's seed heads and stems which looked striking and defiant over winter had turned drab and fragmented. They are now in the compost bin and the cycle continues. My pots are filled with green leaves and the odd flower. #gardening #gardens

Nature ever the contrarian , in Spring I planted some nasturtiums, carefully tended them but in the summer heat they faltered. Cue the autumn and there's a huge plant growing in the compost bin , and few others in cracks in the concrete etc. #yarden

a bowl full of kestrels: Harvested one of my grow bags. Always deeply pleasing to walk 5 yards for your dinner (stopping on the way back for some mint). They were really good lightly boiled & anointed with butter. I had the tiny ones as a cook's treat. #yarden #gardenersworld #gardenshour 🌱
