Hiding from winter, hoping for daisies
by Cynthia from St Mary’s Music School
(1) Five,
(1) Six,
(2) Seven,
(3) Eight, nine, ten.
(5) I’ll count the daisies
(8) Before summer turns to autumn
(13) Before the sky turns into a dusty
shade of grey
(21) Before the lakes form an icy shield,
guarding the depth of the lake from
all its secrets.
(34) Before daylights duration increasingly
starts to grow dimmer, while the cold,
snowy and eerie nights are feeling
unearthly and endless.
(55) Soon we will meet winter’s chilly
embrace. I will watch the icicles form
under the rising sun, and the birds fly
back and forth as the sun sets. Yet I
still sit here and wish for the daisies
to appear once again. There is hope.
