I loved it unreservedly at the time and still (mostly) enjoy watching it as a watershed movie that forever changed indie cinema. Jackie Brown has emerged over the years (for me at least) as the superior flick.
If I'm honest, yeah, that scene mars the movie for me. It's true that the hall pass was issued in 1994, in a much different social landscape than 2026, but watching it now still makes me bristle. And Spike Lee was calling it out in real time, iirc, which was seen then by many as oversensitivity.
