It occurs to me that the most straightforward translation of “bestimmte" here is probably “defined” in the sense of “Begriffsbestimmung” (defining a term)
I’d actually change “fulfilling” to “realisation”
You could also use “designated” instead of “identified"

Why is it pure nonsense?
My more pessimistic reading of this result is that it signals the inevitability of the Republicans attempting to do away with free and fair elections before the mid-terms. I don’t necessarily think they’ll succeed, but then again nothing shocks me anymore.
This goes so much harder than the English cover.
When I was 12, I was the kid who was standing up in math class and giving speeches against our illegal war of aggression against Iraq. I may not have been less annoying than a European defending the US against his classmates, but at least I was more politically advanced.
I don’t want to be impolite but imagine having devoted half your life to defending the US against the charge of imperialism. Why in the world are European intellectual elites so ideologically invested in the United States?
