Easy, productivity is not the only metric one should consider. Resource usage & climate impact, illegal & unethical training of models on copyrighted code, the impact using AI has on producing new skilled developers by removing the need for their critical thinking and learning, etc.

Every time I make a change to my self-hosted CI servers, GitHub Actions goes down globally. It's happened every single time in the past 24 months.

Very good point. I also see the parallel with AI assisted coding. It removes a bit too much friction and makes it easy to do things without much thought. The result is progress without learning.

I feel this. I've been trying to lean in the opposite direction by focusing on everything human about the job. I'm organizing and going to meetups, I'm doing calls with other devs, and I'm trying to inject personality into my work. Please don't give up, you're a beacon of that humanity that we need.
