Charcuterie lunch with wine!

So we made the 1:00 train no problem. Unfortunately, we can't sit together, but we all got seats! Aaaaaaand...the drink cart just came around! I'm having a Scotchy-Scotch.

Anyhow, we'll get to Toronto, shuttle to YYZ, then fly out at about 11:00 tonight.

Planes, trains, and automobiles!

We hauled butt out of there, crossing into Windsor (thanks for the car ride, E!), to get a train to Toronto. Fortunately, our connections were able to keep us on the flight from Toronto to Saskatoon, which was delayed.

So! Traveling on Friday the 13th to stay in a haunted hotel in Saskatoon. What could possibly go wrong?

We had a flight booked (DTW -> YYZ -> YXE). The Uber to the Detroit airport was about 10 minutes away when we got notification of our flight cancelation!

I just wanted to share an unprecedented actual photo of myself. Well, part of myself. I took a picture on a whim, went down a rabbit hole on Google, and it appears my eyes have central heterochromia, which is really rare. I'm a legitimate mutant fr fr!

Oh, yeah, I think it's just full-weekend badges this year. They might not even have enough badge sales to break even. If they have to cancel for any reason, I think they said they'd give refunds.

...and eat free snacks! (Well, included in the cost.)

Actually, no. I'm just going to have fun and maybe learn something about writing and making comics. I really mostly draw for myself at this point on time.

Oh! I figured it was something like that. I have IbisPaint on mine. Sometimes I'll sketch on it with a stylus, but I still need a lot of practice! This is the best I can do on the phone right now.

The weekend after that is Toronto, Ontario (which Canadians call the City at the Centre of the Universe, even though NYC is the City at the Center of the World!).

Then, the last weekend of March, I'll be back in Metro Detroit, Michigan, the Motor City, for Penguicon!

Oh! This year is flying by so quickly, now!

The weekend is coming soon, and I'll be off to Windsor, Ontario, the City of Roses!

The next weekend is Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the Paris of the Prairies.

So, this weekend I'm in a suburb of Detroit visiting friends. They made me lunch!

Grilled cheese sandwich on multigrain bread with honey turkey (and a little mustard). Ohhh, cooked in a good amount of Irish butter until crispy! Leftover garlic parm fries from last night, and dill pickles!

I'm gonna play Mage! I start Session 1 next Thursday.

On the Mage: the Ascension character portrait front, progress is slow. This week has been tough for finding more than a few minutes at a time to draw.

Also, I'm thinking of putting her Avatar in her portrait with her: Foxfire, a mystical being who takes the form of a nine-tailed fox.
