That's my last name and my birthday today, so perfect timing!
That's my last name and my birthday today, so perfect timing!
Oh lovely - cheers!
Thank you - that really helps π
Thanks, it'll ease in time - I hope. It's nice to have something to look forward to. It's been a horrible 4 months, and a chance to go somewhere with no family connection.
Yes, and now I only use the Elizabeth Line - The Heathrow Express is such a scam.
True - although I found a good deal to London in December, Graz - Zurich - London City (and I still think this is the best London airport to fly into - feels so calm, and the DLR is a nice way to arrive in the city) Cheapest flight I found to Oman via Dubai, too - far less than any other carrier.
It's amazing how much more expensive Austrian Airlines is compared to Lufthansa - and guess who owns Austrian?
It's a good airline, but seriously, there's not that much difference aside from classical music and the colour scheme.
You're right - I'm a sucker for RETROspect - today has been tough, cried a river after the court, thousands of memories just flooding back. the mind can be a bloody destructive thing at times.
So many things change when you're no longer married - it's weird to book a flight and just select 1 ticket after 2 decades of doing everything together. Off to Lisbon at the end of April. Same routine though - Skyscanner first, then realise it's best to go via the Lufthansa website.
Oh not bad - 19 is pretty good going. Still utterly perplexed by it all, but it's happened - and naively I didn't think it would happen to me.
Thank you Neil. It's a little bit of cathartic distraction from the world and my personal circumstances. Really glad you enjoy the videos.
Thanks Jonathan- yes, thank goodness it wasnβt drawn out and costly. Weird to be officially divorced and single after 19 years as a husband.
Thanks Heather - in some ways, I don't feel like I have. Yes, the rawness has eased, but I still have that horrible churning and tight feeling in my stomach, and often wake up feeling very anxious. Everyone tells me I'm handling it well, but I don't always feel it.
Sadly I need to work - but I will be taking it easy, and tonight I'll watch a movie. Not very exciting, but I don't feel like going out, I just want to shut the world out right now.
Done and divorced.
A day to forget but now I need to move on and accept it. It's been a brutal 4 months and I'm not out the woods yet, but I know what I need to do, and that's start a brand new chapter, I'm just not sure what to write yet.
Time to breathe a bit first.
Ok, off to sign papers I donβt want to but have to.
Feeing surprisingly calm though - I thought Iβd be in a right state.
Maybe itβll hit me later.
I made this video for a few reasons
1. I like making happy-clappy content
2. Iβm trying to keep positive with this divorce and this song makes me feel good
3. Itβs a good excuse to make another video
4. The world is a bin fire
Exactly the plan. I've had dinner, been to the pub with a mate, home now. Cuppa, some chocolate biscuits, and some old episodes of Grange Hill....
Thanks Samantha- my stomach is doing back flips
Proper dad joke eh?! Thanks Nicola!
There's a lot of politics on BlueSky, and for good reason. But let's put the brakes on for a second with this video I've made.
Think of it as a non-political Raleigh....
Apologies Celine, and f*** you, Leann.....just kidding, I'm sure you're very nice!
oh shit, you're right!
"What a fool believes" is a great song, but it really is the ultimate theme tune for Trump supporters.
I've spent time in the Strait of Hormuz on Goat Island, an Omani Naval base back in 87. We went fishing & saw US & UK frigates to protect shipping from suicide boats. Plus, Iranian speedboats loaded with cigs would try to make it to the UAE. Suicide boat or cigs boat? Not easy to tell, esp at night
Thank you mate - I'm trying to keep calm and slow my mind down. Dreading tomorrow.
Tonight is the last night as a married man - on paper at least, we've been separated for 4 months now.
It has to happen, but it's horrible.
To let go of the woman I loved, and still do.
When we signed our marriage papers in 2006, my hand shook with adrenaline and love. Tomorrow it'll shake again.
Oh I remember now!
I bought a pair in 94.
Terrible waste of money, but I liked buying them at Lillywhites!
Oh yes, cinnamon gum is great! Big Red I think
