As a resident of a perennial NDP-or-CPC riding, I am dismayed by the ongoing implosion of the NDP, which just strengthens LPC vote splitting here on VI.
Most of my colleagues in the Navy who were posted to Victoria with me came from small-town Prairies, Quebec or the Maritimes. Victoria was the Big City and very exciting (well, to them at least).
I am embarrassed that my beautiful Comox Valley is being used as rage bait by a bunch of racists, but on the upside, we are a small community where most everyone gets along and racist rage baiters get called out pretty quickly.

Having written news releases for CF casualties, I know the approvals process for these are even more rigorous than other NRs.

As this analysis shows, the collapsing NDP vote in BC ridings like mine (NI-PR) benefits only one party - the CPC.
This riding hasn’t gone LPC since the 1970s, and it won’t go LPC anytime soon, because vote splitting is a real thing.

We go to Sayward every year. It’s got amazing potential and is only 40 minutes up from Campbell River, which is booming.
