A bunch of computer surgery today and I've got a PoC boot of an old Mac Mini with Ubuntu to expand my homelab.
The drive with Ubuntu doesn't actually fit in the Mac Mini, it's just a temp replacement to prove it'd work before I flash the "real" drive

As a homelab-er, something neat I'm finding with github copilot is that I can code up simple little apps to fill problems or gaps I have in the way I want to manage things.
These are purpose built for *my* way of working so they don't have to be perfect but just work for me.

Experimenting with client/server architecture with Copilot SDK - github.com/aaronpowell/...
Login with GitHub, Copilot SDK then uses that user, allowing multi-tenant apps without a shared Copilot account.

A Minnesotan nurse saved my refugee family’s life. Four decades on, we watched the news together in horror | Rathana Chea
Alex Pretti’s death in Minneapolis reveals a painful contradiction – nurses are carers in times of crisis, often invisible, yet they carry our moral compass

Four decades ago, my parents were Cambodian refugees. As high school students, they were thrown into one of the darkest chapters of humanity’s history, surviving nearly five years in forced labour camps under the Khmer Rouge genocide. An estimated 2.7 million of my kin perished during that time. Fortunately for my family, they were accepted under Australia’s humanitarian program and arrived in Australia on 26 January, a date heavy with complexity for Australian identity, and our refugee story became another layer within it.
Our journey began when my mother discovered she was pregnant. Together with my father, they decided to flee on foot through landmine-ridden jungle toward the Thai-Cambodian border, carrying nothing but their lives and the hope that their unborn child might escape the suffering they had endured. Screenshot of a social media post by Debbie Ridpath Ohi explaining how to add embedded links in Bluesky posts using Deck.blue. The post shows a step-by-step process with annotated arrows and text highlighting the ease of turning URLs into markdown links by pasting them after selecting text. The final result shows a clickable hyperlink in the post. The image is labeled 'Easy way to add embedded links in your Bluesky posts via Deck.blue' and includes Debbie's profile picture and handle.

I haven't setup offsite backups yet, but I might use a similar strategy to I do with paperless-ngx, push to OneDrive for backup.
Otherwise Azure Files is a consideration for backup/cold storage

I finally bit the bullet and setup on my Synology yesterday too. I've started importing some of my media before looking to roll out to the family.
I'm wanting to learn more about the search/ML aspect, as I like that I can ask OneDrive something random and have it return relevant results

I built a web app with the GitHub Copilot SDK to make analyzing log files easier. It'll summarize them, provide a root cause analysis, and also link any GitHub issues they could be related to ✨
Check out the GitHub Copilot SDK here: github.com/github/copil...
