There are a few: TrueLayer, Yapily, Plaid, Salt Edge, Tink ... (NB: OB is a b2b, not a 'consumer', API so that legal + regs apply) standards.openbanking.org.uk has the details, and openbankinguk.github.io/read-write-a... for the weeds ;)

At Palantir, Shyam called this "lock in". Promise only an overlay on the data, synthesize new proprietary data for the use case, and resist making this new data easy to translate for anyone else. Ensure switching costs are high and generally unforeseen.

Thank you. This is very helpful indeed. What would help even more would be a couple of examples of the impact of different user types.
And there we have it.

With an even better 'ai chatbot' experience than I could have imagined.
today in _spectacular_ communication & community management from @soundcloud.dev we see the classic "we've updated our terms but won't tell you what's changed, if it's better, or why, who knows! Give us your money, and let us do whatever we want to. We don't like to build trust and we don't care."
Owen is right to highlight this. As taxpayers, we already paid. All this will do is introduce higher prices to all consumers and businesses.

curious email from @spotify.com saying they're increasing monthly fees by 8% to "invest in [their] product, develop new features and continue to bring you the best experience."
1. Really? I'd love to see how $much is invested in it
2. Stop with the AI: it's sh*t

imo it's right to question the impact and role of openness + open licences..
..and take an interest in other "modes of governance and ways of sharing value"..
..but I don't think it's useful to bend the definition of open to encompass those modes okfn.org/en/projects/...
Great example of where we are vs where we think we are.
Interesting observations here. There is a vast amount of activity around tech, ai and, now with the Data Act, on data sharing. We are in a moment of great opportunity and very material risk. More eyes across everything is absolutely essential to ensure the UK gets the outcomes we all need and want.
If this is a sign of things to come we can reasonably expect all ai investment to slow down, as trust evaporates: investors get nervous if they know they are wading into a mess.
Imagine if we could address good governance and transparency up-front?! I wouldn't invest in any ai that doesn't.
In news literally no one could have seen coming...
I can't imagine how anything about this might be politically, socially or technically hard, or go wrong, or take a very long time, or be infinitely expensive, or be unsustainable, or result in unintended consequences, or ... [list continues in next Episode]
Science helps us adapt based on data and evidence. From dentistry to planes to smart phones to glue...
While people are very good at misusing the word 'science' to support beliefs or political views, it's now how it actually works.
Seems bizarre we need to remind us all to supprt science while reading & writing on devices that we couldn't make without it.
"science" describes a process to make things, not a belief system or political viewpoint.
