While doing some reading and data gathering for my 1st (out of 12) research topic, I stumbled on the rabbit hole about research problems. It's been almost 8 hours now reading on the history, philosophy, sociology, and psychology of science regarding how to write research problems...
So many things to write. So many things to read. So little time.
...the university to: (1) boost teaching and non-teaching productivity, (2) help school administrators create and implements policies, programs, and activities for a better university experience for the teaching and non-teaching personnel, and for the students as well.
I noticed how few (or none) of my colleagues are into getting deep to address problems experienced within our academic community. They are too invested in looking at problems outside. I am hoping to fill that void and agitate others to think for better policies, programs, and activities inside...
In the attempt to intentionally commit to an academic life with a bigger purpose, I started plotting the things I wanted to research about. I have prepared 12 topics for investigation. Most of these topics are geared towards intellectualizing our local academic experience in the university.
but I will refuse to dance with their conservative choreography. Instead, I will do all that I can to advance more progressive, scientific, and mass-oriented academic activities and encourage other faculty members to follow this intellectual path.
