The Colorado River situation is a big f*ing deal, more than most people outside the West realize.
Elk eating grass lawn in Loveland, CO
I thought the stupid Canadian geese were destroying my lawn. I guess I can be okay with the local elk herd being the responsible party.
Being confidently incorrect is a character trait that I will never understand.
Great shot neighbor!
AllisonHouse.com is now WeatherPulse.com! Tyler Allison has retired from the weather industry and Ryan Hickman (CTO) has taken over ownership. See Tyler's announcement below.

Sorry, I meant unidata-nexrad-level2.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html.
Removing the index.html makes it list some of the (oldest) keys. I suppose you could surmise filenames from that.
The index.html usually exists to allow browsing the bucket, like at unidata-nexrad-level3.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html but is obviously missing.
Hm, maybe those should be in RS
Those stairs would kill me within 24 hours.
Not happy with the cold snap but damn do we need the moisture.
stumbled on this awesome DIY record lathe project via @miunau.com slyka.net/projects/rec... - see more on mastodon i believe - its by @slyka@pawb.fun
These radars output Level 2 data but there is no Level 3.
DTN may be able to use their conversion to produce Super-Resolution Level 3 but there wouldn't be a standard Reflectivity product.
KLQR (Larned, Kansas) METAR has been added to the database for our data feeds, including RadarScope and GREarth.
Looks like the MRMS PTYPE flag was used to type the reflectivity. I do the same but that product is garbage. Would love a mask that isn't just abysmal.
Absolutely. Here's my GOES Full Disk True Color on a zoomable/pannable 3D globe using GLSL with raw data tiles (raw values baked into the PNG bands) as the underlying data framework.
I really need to get back to work on a quicker/lighter delivery method like GeoParquet.
Seriously cool project, Tim. Thanks for sharing. Between this and @stormscale.io's sounding plotter, there's lots of great capabilities in the browser.
I'm going to be disappointed if Xcel cuts my power :(
We use freedom units in this country.
But yeah, the "Mag:" line with "-43 F" indicates the Fahrenheit measurement.
When someone has an aortic dissection, there is a 50% chance of them passing before they even make it to the hospital.
I knew the signs and still nearly succumbed to this 2 years ago after making it to the hospital. Please donate to the John Ritter Foundation!

Just opened the Music app and bam "Replay'25" splash page but it appears if you miss that, it's the first option under the Search tab as "Replay 2025" or also "Replay Your music story is here" on the Home tab.
Glad to get RTMA, satellite, single-site radar and mosaic radar in a single native app for my @allisonhouse.com customers and RS Pro subscribers.

It was great getting to work with you all.
The U.S. used to have 400-500 lightning fatalities a year. Globally, we see 24,000 fatalities a year from lightning - many of them occurring at sporting events.
Really shameful to see this on Big Noon Kickoff.
A couple of cold air islands in central North Dakota and South Dakota
Yeah I wondered about the 1626Z cutoff.
...GOES-19 YAW FLIP MANEUVER - DATA OUTAGE...
NESDIS's planned GOES-19 Yaw Flip maneuver with an ABI outage
expected for 1630-1740Z has been extended due to an antenna
configuration issue that NESDIS is working on resolving.
π¨ BREAKING: Charlie Kirk has been shot in the neck while speaking at Utah Valley University. This heinous and vile attack is a stain on our democracy. Violence must NEVER be the answer to political disagreementsβour strength is in ideas, not bloodshed.
Cancelling the next PAR R&D phase is nonsensical. PAR technology is our best candidate to replace our aging fleet of WSR-88Ds.
Weather radar is one of the most lifesaving and highest-ROI technologies our govβt has ever supported. Scrapping next gen radar is pound-foolish w/o the penny-wise part.
Xfinity has been terrible anywhere I go so that's what I figured. Just wanted to clarify :)
