My mom got gfiber 2 years ago and the first nest devices she got were shockingly nice, really sleek and hefty. They offered to upgrade her equipment last month and the new models look like repurposed smoke detectors, really abysmal stuff.
It's alright, but if I remember correctly most of the interesting mechanical content is in the post-game and there's a pretty steep grind wall on it.
It was also visually impressive for the time but probably hasn't aged well on that front

“expert witnesses” are usually just blank credentials who are brought in to say whatever the cops tell them to say, and it seems like that’s how it works in alot of journalism too. People are brought in a lot because they provide juicy pull quotes, rather than actual expertise

I was told it's difficult to get the colors to flow and sit properly since the raw pigment you can buy won't be ground fine enough for watercolor, but this was ~20 years ago and things might be better on that front. Would be interested to know whatever solution you end up going with!
Ah bummer, makes sense they'd just run them all through the same process. I'd say maybe look into Japanese brands but if Holbein uses it then maybe the rest of them do too.

In the past if I had to remove a stray light stand from a photo I'd just lasso around it and let content-aware fill replace it with an indistinct blur before touching it up. Last time it just replaced it with a succession of other metal objects and I just gave up and clone stamped the whole thing
My anecdotal experience is that AI actually made Photoshop's content-aware and generative fill tools *worse* because now it'll repeatedly try to generate objects (as diffusion models are trained to) instead of just filling in gaps, to the point where it's useless in serious retouching.

It's pretty common for fan translations of web novels or comics to just hit this wall a couple dozen chapters in when the translator stops bothering to edit the AI output.
Names and pronouns get completely jumbled and occasionally the same paragraph repeats but with slightly different phrasing.
