Social media has done so much damage media literacy and let's be honest, to media criticism as well.
Clickbait, clout chasing, and algorithms deserve a big part of the blame.
This is great to see and is a reminder that AI shit is not popular. Creators and fans do have the power to get corporations to stand down.
As a general rule, I tend to block accounts with the default profile pic. Especially if they either have no posts or if they're following 1000s of people. It's more than likely they're a bot or a troll account that's not interacting in good faith.
And never take Giant Freaking Robot seriously as a source. This just killed whatever little credibility they have left.
This plays right into my theory that not only is the Starfleet Academy hate incredibly manufactured and overblown, but the cottage industry of chuds and other right-wing grifters who whine about pop culture is astroturfed.
Nothing about them ever felt genuine.

I'd be much more inclined to play or watch their thing if they gave me that assurance. Especially if they blatantly say they're against AI.
One of the best ways for a studio, whether they're indie or one of the big ones, to advertise their show, movie, or game is to outright say that no AI slop was used at any point during production and that it was 100% made by actual humans.

Whenever MAGA, chuds, and other right-wing weirdos start getting big mad at something and call a new movie, show, or game "WoKe!" to grift off it, I take it as a sign that that thing is most likely going to be good.
