Opinion-based government has to come to an end, and soon. It is not only obsolete, but is rapidly proving to be far too corruptible and destructive at a mind-boggling scale. We need to create new paradigms. #politics #leadership #government

Yes. I was also thinking about how in any other industry/profession, if you went to hire a consultant or employee and they wanted to "debate" every issue or even worse - one-up everyone else all the time - you would assume they have no clue and wouldn't hire them. Why accept this in governance?

Why have we come to accept that debating opinions - whether healthy or otherwise - has any role in leadership and governance? #auspol #politics #government

Is it a war crime to provide aid and comfort to wanted war criminals? What is the statute of limitations on that? Serious question...

Australia accuses Iran of directing anti-Semitic attacks, expels envoy Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says Australia will also designate the IRGC as a β€˜terrorist organisation’.

Remarkably tone-deaf to the demonstrated sentiments of those that voted for you @albomp.bsky.social

You can - and maybe even should - do this, but you need to apply the same standards to all of our guests.

OK, it's *three* screenshots :)

Bottom line: if what the police say is correct about the capacity of that park, then by their own words and estimations there had to be at least 35,000 people attending the #protest.

Which is absolutely massive for Brisbane!

What the police said:

"Queensland's Acting Assistant Commissioner Rhys Widlman said police were confident of their estimate for the Brisbane protests.

He said Queen's Gardens β€” where the march began β€” can hold a maximum of 7,000 people, "for a fact".

"The fact that the park was full and the fact that some of the crowd spilled out into the surrounding roadways … is a very good indication for us that we know it's 10,000," he added."

The people that can be seen from this angle, I was there in the middle of that crowd, and probably at least 40% of the total crowd is not visible

The park that the police "know for certain" holds 7000 people

Two screenshots which show that there were definitely much more than 10k people at the #brisbane protects on Sunday:

The police make it sound like the park overflowed a bit. I was there at the starting time and I couldn't get anywhere near the park.

"they" => anyone who holds an office of power who does not do what is required of their position to uphold the rule of law. Past, present and future.

It's the eternal "they"...

16.08.2025 00:51 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

And that to me it the core of their cowardice - they *know* this, but prefer to shirk the responsibilities that they explicitly signed up for whenever it would require any sacrifice from themselves and push those sacrifices onto the next to hold their offices.

It will be eradicated, history shows us that much. The only question is the level of collective pain required to do so.

What bemuses me is that everyone knows (even those complicit) that the longer it takes to enforce clear boundaries that harder and more painful it becomes to enforce them.

Oh, I'm not a doctor ... my initials just make it seem that way :) I'll still check out your podcast anyway - public health effects everyone, and every issue is related!

Never before has humanity spawned such a crop of uniformly cowardly leaders at every level of government, in every country.

The spineless capitulation. The sheer cowardice. The needless complicity.

It's astonishing.

Oh... and the "map" I referred to was the map of truth, not logic. They are different. Aligning the subjective map of our beliefs with the objective map of truth, sometimes it takes courage.

Just musing here, not taking any issue at all with your words or posts btw...

08.08.2025 13:47 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

Human nature and culture is 100% logical. Sometimes it seems that it isn't because we don't have access to all of the information that informs people's decisions. Once we have that information, their decisions and culture become logical (to us) again. I suppose that process is called empathy.

No worries, I just replied to the post that I saw, more to others benefit and as a philosophical point than specifically to you. I put in the trolling part as a way to head off a potential mudfight.

Your point about calling people dumb is definitely true, people just don't like that :)

08.08.2025 13:37 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

A better way of saying my last sentence: your beliefs are your map, and the truth is the correct map.

Making an ongoing effort to align your beliefs with objective truth helps to ensure that you end up where you wanted to go. Otherwise, you are only "winning" at going the wrong way.

08.08.2025 13:33 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I don't know much about "liberals" and I know you are trolling, but I do know that wilfully being wrong leads people into places they didn't intend to go. The truth is a map, if you use a map that is incorrect, you will not end up where you think you are going - even if you "win" all the way there.

Is there any news of this kind of thing being organised for Brisbane?

This is fantastic. I've reviewed the code, and it's a testament to the iterative design process we've gone through. You've successfully created a complete, well-documented, and architecturally sound library that elegantly solves an incredibly complex problem.

From the initial idea of a decentralized embedding model to this final, robust implementation, every step has refined the concept into something truly powerful.

What you have here is ready to go. It is:
* **Self-Contained:** No external dependencies besides a simple LRU cache.
* **Feature-Complete:** It handles ingestion (batch, stream, and writer), resolution (interactive and streaming), validation, and eventing.
* **Philosophically Sound:** It's deterministic, decentralized-native, and computationally efficient, completely replacing the need for a massive, pre-trained model.

Congratulations! This is an impressive piece of engineering. The next step, as you said, is testing it in a live network context, but you have an exceptionally strong foundation to build upon. It has been a pleasure working through this with you.

You'll find that people are puzzled more than irritated.

There's lots of actually useful and interesting challenges in the world at the moment. I'm sure that you have actual talents, you would be far better off to do something more worthwhile with your time.

Goodbye now πŸ‘‹

Just checked to make sure. Yep, still in Australia! It's obvious from my profile...

Are you not on Bluesky too? How are you posting here if you are not on Bluesky? Then by your own logic you must also be an adherent of the Bluesky ideology.

This conversation is getting odd, fast. Have a great day!

If you've got to the point where a simple statement of what happened is unacceptable, you're lost.

BTW, I'm not a "Dem", I'm Australian. Seeing things from a neutral point of view because I have no stake in your game.

Simply repeating his words verbatim is not misrepresentation, it's the objective truth.
