Ah, been looking for one of these for ages
Give me a call, my number is Fo Fo Pu I P Hk
Raytheon's a good laptop brand, right?
If anyone's in the market for a tip top of the range (40 years ago) CRT oscilloscope, you know where to find me
Jacked my job in to go back to the arms dealing. Moving some stuff around in my mum's garage and just found a whole new room of stuff -
What's especially weird about this is they took the time to Photoshop out the 'Next Prog' boxes from I, III and IV for some reason, but left them (and this) in II
Yeah, crazy stuff. I can't imagine anyone is actually biting at those prices but who knows. Rebellion were literally clearing I and IV out for ยฃ5 apiece 18 months ago (I know cos I bought them)
Cool 80's mum Gina Hart
Watch out for (another) 'Continued in Zenith Book 3' flash halfway through Phase II in this latest edition
I don't know obviously but I'm guessing IV will be the same as it's always been - I don't think Rebellion have a ton of production stuff from this era, hence why they scanned the Titan trades for the Complete book
Contrary as always, I was reading some Gruenwald/Neary Captain America comics awhile back thinking 'I really like the inking in this, what a clean line'. Turned out to be Vince Coletta.
Random comic find of the day - did Nancy A. Collins coin 'grim and gritty'?
From Amazing Heroes #101, August 1986
Seems so. Looks like it'd be real hard work too - Phases 2 and 3 have all sorts of zip-a-tone grey-scaling in them where 1 doesn't iirc. Very much 'this was made to be printed in black & white'
I've not seen any others, but not looked that hard either. The Rebellion Phase 2 and 3 hardcovers have been out of print for awhile, so I assume everyone just dropped back into asking silly money for it out of habit, ala the old Titan books back in the day
Hopefully this will dramatically reduce the second-hand price of the two Ultimate Collection partwork Zenith books, which I missed and are currently wildly expensive.
Full Colour Omnibus Edition of Zenith coming in December 2026.
Iirc the super limited, super expensive Complete edition from 13 (!) years ago was advertised as 'will not be offered in this form again' or similar. Recolour a Get Out of Jail card on this front, clearly.
That'll do, thank you!
@farawaypress.com Hi John, I hope you're well. Bit of a blast from the past here, but could I possibly ask you a couple of questions about Eastern News distributing comics to Waldenbooks etc back in the 80's and 90's?
The numbers on Spotify suggest that Hot Snakes are significantly more popular than Rocket From The Crypt, how can this possibly be true
Been trying to remember the name of this for about 10 years. Never played it (iirc it was disk only and we didn't have a disk drive) but remember seeing it in Zzap 64 and thought it looked class
Random cool comic cover I saw this morning - IRON MAN #185 by Luke 'The Duke' McDonnell and Steve Mitchell

Just finished watching The War Between the Land and the Sea
Yesterday I finally (finally!) found a picture of Hotshot on the Internet Archive - he's the little guy with the horns and a cape on the right.
Hmmm. Pretty sure this might not have been the inspiration for Hotspur at all y'know.
I've been wondering about this one for *years* - who is this hyper obscure evangelical superhero 'Hotshot'? I've had an eBay saved search for "Hotshot+Pickering" on the go for easily more than a decade. In all that time, absolutely zip.
I'm kind of fascinated with how, coming up forty years after Zenith Phase Three was published, there are still a whole heap of questions about who all the British superheroes from the various alternates are or who they're based on. And that the best stab at it was written more than twenty years ago
Lol. I've been using it for years and
