Geekify need Goodman Games to step in and complete their Kickstarter.
@itsquinns.bsky.social Enjoyed the Public Access review. I'm still a little unclear on how your misreading of the "what are you afraid of" question, from the disclaimer, impacted play. I can't see a difference by adding the 'if they fail or lose their nerve' line, but what am I missing? Cheers
Another thing to do with cards is linked cards, for example something that shrinks or gets used up.
Ignore the clash in art styles; I'm not even certain this'll be a pure fantasy game yet. The original idea was a science-fantasy game with weird lost tech artefacts instead of wands or whatever.
Mocking up some ways the inventory system might work. The card-based version works a lot better, allows for actual rules info, and makes moving gear and rearranging your backpack a bit quicker. However having the image on the tetrominoes feels more tactile, like putting stuff in your bag.
The intent is to mix NSR/OSR philosophy of play with some storygame mechanics. Previously, I approached 1400 Lo-Fi hi-Fantasy as a 'story game with OSR sensibilities'. This will be the reverse; an NSR game first and foremost.
Cover art for Dungeons etc. A red and green landscape featuring a wonky castle, giant mushrooms, a distant viaduct, and a blue door in a red stone doorway in the foreground. The text reads "A new-school adventure game about travelling the wilderness, and exploring forests, cities, ruins, Dungeons etc.
Trying a new art style for this new project - Dungeons etc. - an inventory-first NSR game about exploring fantastical locations.
Great, now I need to buy a 3rd copy of Grok?!
I'd be interested to find out more please!
Three characters sit in silhouette. One is shouting "Anything that seems like a mistake is actually world building!"
Describe your Game Mastering style in one saved image. (www.samandfuzzy.com)
Chris and Kelsey are both great designers, and I've yet to watch/listen to either of these games be played.
Shadowdark or Mythic Bastionland
I feel targeted. What do you want? A house number or something? That's crazy.
The @gamesomnivorous.bsky.social hexcrawl sets have all come with a GM screen that has everything on it to run the setting: random tables, hex descriptions, etc. Just a GM screen and then a bag of hex tiles.
Digital mockup of a Hadesborg book, with a draft front cover and two example spreads.
Discussing with some friends that there should be an Ancient Greek-inspired MΓΆrk Borg game, so decided to put together a proof of concept - HADESBORG
These books are great and you should get in on this Kickstarter!
When I die, I want my ashes scattered here.
So I guess @itch.io's response to all this payment processor fiasco is to just not give people the money they're owed.
Haha yeah very tough. I like Colostle, as in I liked turning over cards and seeing what happened. Then writing it all down felt like homework.
TYOV always appears high in people's recs, but in previous journaling games I've played, the writing part is my least favourite π£
It's going to be Ironsworn isn't it. You're going to make me finally read Ironsworn.
What are some of the best TTRPG solo rules? I've played a few solo/journaling games, but nothings really stuck for me.
I feel like when L died.
Why is Stripe recommended?
Same. This would've been super useful to have like a week ago π
I meant more A5 zines; games like Grok?!, Riverbend, and The Wretched, and modules like Gradient Descent and Aberrant Reflections. I like the idea of a binder to keep them in good condition, but it's not great for displaying them.
Restarted Hollow Knight to get some reps in before Silksong and accidentally did the partial False Knight skip. Clean knocked myself out of the fight.
Everyone who has a decent amount of TTRPG zines: how to you store/display them? Mine have just spilled into a third magazine file, but that feels unsatisfying.
That's a wrap for another amazing year! Once again another year of record-breaking submissions! @itch.io went down for a bit at the end of the jam, so if you have an entry but missed out on submitting it, head over to the community forums where you can submit the URL of your entry (link in reply).
