There is a chanceβadmittedly, a slim one, but a chance nonethelessβthat Mark Ruffalo is in fact a dog that got stuck in human form after Animorphing for too long, and that's beautiful to me
This is the phrase you say to a Chicagoan to zero out their brain hard drive by accessing roughly "all of it" in rapid succession
One of my favorite things when Fallout 4 came out and I was working on modding it was looking at the "last modified" dates on a bunch of the audio and texture files and seeing decade+ old files
love this
Also one notable and preferred solution to this is simply to not tell people that they're some specific gender until they have to tell you that you're wrong, let them come to gender on their own the way you are already letting them come to a great many other aspects of their identity
On a micro level, one traditional animation technique is to even curve keyframe density within an individual movement, IE using fewer for the broad motion of a step and more for the actual contact. Drawings need not be spaced consistently in time to be effective, and are sometimes hindered by it
Me: Tali post more about Hamtaro Ham Ham Heartbreak, the perfect adventure game
Totally! I primarily bring it up to help preemptively sharpen the arguments against what the executive class would hem and haw about there
There's also maybe some wibbly math in terms of the costs associated with benefits administration (assuming they kept things like health care, etc) and other functions but I *suspect* the per-head costs of that stuff mostly go up with layoffs anyway due to a variety of factors so it could be a wash
*companies could say "we're paying you less now but two days of your week are free for you to do whatever you want, you're still working for us on those days but do whatever" and that doesn't seem like it'd be a legal issue, companies have the right to define what constitutes work in contracts
I love the simplicity and moral clarity of this take (I really do!), but I think it falls at the same hurdle most shortened work week advocacy falls at: it requires the structure of work visas (and, specifically, the requirement of full time work and defined hour count for that) to be changed first*
it took an expensive, coordinated effort & a lot of people saying βthis doesnβt matterβ to get from a bathroom ban costing one state $400 million & a gubernatorial race to βtrans people must turn in their documents which become invalid in a few hours or face fines & potential jail timeβ in 10 years.
Look, we may not be able to do it consistently but at least it's fun to try

I think one might also be able to appease me if it's entirely a supercut of things being ragdolled into space
You might notice "the internet" is not on this list. Still a bit up in the air on that one
Leftists love technology, when it:
- solves a real problem that the working class has
- actually works
A non-exhaustive list of technology that I, a leftist and a socialist, unironically and thoroughly love:
- trains
- vaccines
- screen readers
- trains
- assistive devices (prosthetics, breathing apparati, tools for people who lack fine or stable motor control, etc)
- clocks
- solar
- TRAINS
Rest in power, Reverend

Oh no, Saleem my heart goes out to y'all
Does the team support remote work? That'd be good to know before I pass some of these along to folks who might be a good fit
