Yesterday, I joined @advocate.nyc.gov, @schumer.senate.gov, @council.nyc.gov, NYS Senators Andrew Gounardes and Steve Chan, and other fellow elected officials in Sunset Park to celebrate the recent Lunar New Year with local families.

Our Communities Thriving Taskforce met today to discuss how our office can strengthen restorative justice programming focused on intervention and diversion across the borough.

Brooklyn had an unprecedentedly safe start to 2026 with only five homicides during January and February—11 fewer than last year and four fewer than the previous record low set in 2018.

Shootings and shooting victims also reached their lowest levels ever for this time period.
