πΏ Keep showers to three minutes or less.
π½ Skip a flush or two or three.
π½οΈ Make sure dishwasher and laundry loads are full.
4/5
To help crews be able to complete this work, we need all Calgarians to help keep our overall water demand below 500 million litres - this will help to keep the system stable.
3/5
This process involves:
1. Constructing an exterior reinforcing steel cage
2. Pouring concrete around the pipe.
This work will take place simultaneously at all three work sites.

Update β March 9 β 5pm
We have now removed the Bearspaw South Feeder Main from service and adjusted how water moves throughout Calgary.
We are draining the pipe to prepare for construction. Once the pipe is exposed, crews can start working on the concrete reinforcements.
1/5
To begin work on the Bearspaw South Feeder Main, the pipe must be drained.
What you'll see: crews at manholes & valves, water released to the river, and water sampling to confirm dechlorination & monitor oxygen & turbidity levels in the river.

Why it's important: With the feeder main out of service, we won't be able to get as much water as usual from our plants to your taps. If we use more water than we can supply, our water system will be at increased risk.
3/5
With the BSFM out of service, no outdoor water use will be permitted, and indoor water conservation will be needed to make sure that there is enough water to meet urgent needs.
We need everyone to set a goal to save at least 25L of water per day
2/5
Help spread the word!
On Monday, March 9, the Bearspaw South Feeder Main (BSFM) will be shut down to allow for planned reinforcement repairs to support the stability of the current pipe.
