Just found out for health reasons that Godflesh is pretty much done. Justin K. Broadrick’s health won’t let him hit those guttural notes anymore. The Decline and Fall EP and the album A World Lit Only By Fire reignited my love of heavy music. So grateful I saw them on what was their final tour.
I say this lovingly but One Piece fans are a bunch of nerds.
And since it’s every ten years, how the taste and aesthetic changes in that time.
The beauty of the Sight and Spund list is that it’s both directors and critics making lists but at this point they’re both wildly different. So it would be cool to see how divergent lists by comics critics, and writers & artists, (or both) fare.
You know the more I think about it, the more I think comics could use its own version of a Sight and Sound list.
Tatjana Wood has apparently passed away at age 99. Her father was Jewish so during WW2 her parents sent her to the Netherlands, then NY. She studied as a dressmaker, met/married Wallace Wood and began assisting him, then pivoted to becoming one of the best colorists in comics.
