PARTISAN RESISTANCE IN BARKOVLJE About the anti-fascist resistance of the people of Barkovlje (Italy) 80 years after liberation. The program point focuses on the local history of resistance in Barkovlje, a village near Trieste that was almost entirely Slovenian a hundred years ago. The presentation traces Barkovlje's resistance to Nazi fascism during World War Il. It also explores how the local Slovenian cultural association preserves this anti-fascist heritage today. Additionally, it will highlight the ongoing challenges faced by the Slovenian minority in the area, which have been shaped by decades of political assimilation and cultural marginalization.
