Framing is wrapping up on a new $7 million office building at 2401 S University Drive, near TCU between Park Hill Drive and Colonial Parkway. The 15,800-square-foot project is being developed by COWTOWN 109, LLC and designed by local architecture firm Bbennett Partners.
The property was previously occupied by Bella Italia, which will move to the former Fitzgerald space at 6115 Camp Bowie Blvd #104.
A new 7,500 sqft restaurant building is in the planning stages at the SE corner of Camp Bowie and Merrick. Designed by Abel Design Group, the building will house Acquolina, an Aspen, Colorado-based Italian fine-dining restaurant.
The design team of the project is led by Atlanta-based TVS, in collaboration with Fort Worth-based Bennett Partners.
Featuring a new central tower, native green space, and outdoor terraces with panoramic downtown views, the project aims to anchor economic growth in the southeast quadrant of downtown. The expansion is anticipated to be complete in 2030.
The addition is planned to replace the existing domed arena, which is slated to be demolished later this year. The $606 million project includes 390,000 square feet of exhibit, meeting, and ballroom space.

Phase II will demolish the Convention Center’s 1967 Arena, allowing the center’s footprint to expand north toward 9th Street. Renderings are expected to be unveiled next February, with construction kicking off mid-year and wrapping up in 2030.
The reoriented docks enabled the realignment of Commerce Street, opening new property for potential high-rise hotel development to complement the center. In March this year, Fort Worth City Council approved a contract with Con-Real, LLC to advise on the selection of a master developer for the site.
The $95 million project adds a new southeast entrance, enhancing pedestrian connectivity and walkability, along with new kitchen facilities, a coffee bar, and new loading docks.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Monday to mark the opening of the first phase of the Fort Worth Convention Center expansion.
On the east side of campus, work is going vertical on multiple residence halls being developed by TCU and American Campus Communities. These developments include a 1,322-bed first-year residential hall, 454-bed sophomore hall and 120 bed town homes for upper-division students.
Morado on Berry, a two-building development between the Bookstore and Molly Reid Hall, has made the most progress. Designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, the mixed-use buildings will offer 779 beds and include an integrated parking garage and street-level retail activating Berry Street.
Construction is ramping up on the Texas Christian University campus, with nearly half a billion dollars in new construction set to significantly expand on-campus housing capacity.

A band of bas-relief running horses is taking shape on the façade of the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame's expansion. The 16,000-square-foot, $19.7 million addition, set to open in November 2026, will introduce a new entrance, a larger gift shop, and expanded exhibit areas.
Across 8th Avenue, a new facility for Kids' Place Child Development Center is ongoing. The original Kid’s Place was demolished to make way for the aforementioned West Tower. Other planned projects on the campus include a 504-car garage south of the West tower and expanded utility plants.
Excavation for the Cook Children's Health Care System’s West Tower is nearly complete. The 700,000-sq ft addition will significantly expand the hospital's capacity, adding Cardiac ICU, NICU, and pediatric ICU beds, and new space for other services including new operating rooms and imaging services.
Van Zandt’s development team includes developer Goldenrod, architect Holland-Basham, GC Oline Construction and broker JLL.
The L-shaped development includes with 11,000 sqft of ground floor retail space and a three-level parking podium with 540 spaces. Above the podium is a 5 story, 100,000 sqft of Class A office building and a 7-story, 226 unit multifamily building with amenity deck above the garage.
A tower crane is up for the Van Zandt, a mixed-use development at 2801 W. 7th Street.
The TEXRail train "Vaquero" flies over a Fort Worth and Western train at Hodge Yard. The FWWR train is led by an SD60M locomotive no. 2035, named "Butch Cassidy."

Designed by GFF and built by The Beck Group, the $70.5 million development is part of the larger Crescent Fort Worth mixed-use development, which includes The Crescent Hotel, Fort Worth and Crescent Residences, all just steps away from Fort Worth's museums.
From here, the building will rise eight stories above grade, ultimately delivering 170,000 square feet of office space, with JPMorgan Chase serving as the anchor tenant. The project will feature a fitness center, conference facilities, and two on-site restaurants.
After several months of excavation and below-grade garage construction, work on Crescent Real Estate LLC's Fort Worth West Tower has now reached ground level.
