Along with β€œfund science save lives” we also need the slogan β€œfund science save the economy”. I’m afraid many voters here aren’t interested in saving lives.

Dact1 induces Dishevelled oligomerization to facilitate binding partner switch and signalosome formation during convergent extension - Nature Communications The action of non-canonical Wnt signaling during tissue morphogenesis remains unclear. Here, the authors find that Dact1 promotes oligomerization of Dvl to couple its binding partner switch from Vangl...

πŸ§ͺ My PhD research is now published in @naturecomms.bsky.social! If you're interested in non-canonical Wnt signaling during convergent extension, check it out! We developed a novel model suggesting that Dvl2 oligomerization modulates a binding switch from Vangl2 to Fz7.

Stand Up For Science 2025 Announces National Day of Action:
March 7, 2025

WHAT: A rally to defend science as a public good and central pillar of social progress.

WHY: Science is for everyone–and benefits everyone. When the federal government supports scientific research through taxpayer funding, it fuels innovation, creates jobs, and sustains the world we live in. From purified water to the polio vaccine to the cell phone you might be reading
this on, science has significantly impacted our lives in countless ways.

We’re mobilizing to keep science free from interference and censorship by government officials. We’re also mobilizing because attacks on diversity, equity, inclusion, and access are attacks on science, and vice versa. Science is at its best when it includes everyone and when it stands to improve people’s lives. It’s time–as ever–to stand up for science, for everyone who does it, and for everyone who benefits from it.

WHO: Everyone! If your life is better because of science, this rally is for you.

WHERE: Washington, DC & state capitals nationwide

WHEN: March 7, 2025

I'm trying to stay positive and push imaging boundaries. The latest fascinating project is XRM imaging of Marchantia colonized by a mycorrhizal fungus. I'm sure there are false positives in this quick manual segmentation, but certainly some cool AMF structures as well. A satisfying first scan.
