Neither Donald Trump nor Pete Hegseth can articulate a clear justification for this war, clear goals, or a clear timeline.
Congress should not write a blank check for an unnecessary war that remains illegal without authorization.

The Iran war is threatening to upend Americans' household budgets.
U.S. oil prices hit a high of $119.50 on Monday, and the national average gasoline price topped $3.50 a gallon as of Tuesday, up 21% from a month ago, according to AAA.

Andy Ogles seems unable to comprehend the basic values the United States was founded on β like religious freedom under the First Amendment.

Muslim Americans are our neighbors, colleagues, and friends. They belong here, but this vile Islamophobia doesnβt belong in Congress.
LATEST: Oil prices continue soaring, putting them on track to record their biggest jump since early 2020 as the escalating Iran war threatens global energy supplies.
Gas prices are climbing, and fast.
Trumpβs reckless war in Iran is putting a HUGE strain on Americansβ pocketbooks.

No state is safe from Trump driving up prices at the pump.
This is the cost of Trumpβs war of choice and Republicans in Congress enabling him.
Thanks to over 32,000 concerned citizens, approval for Trumpβs taxpayer-funded ballroom has been delayed. A great reminder that using your voice is always important and has an impact!

SpongeBob memes and video game edits hyping their illegal war in Iran, tells us just how seriously the White House takes decisions of war and peace.
This isnβt Call of Duty. It isnβt a game or a meme.
Real people are dying, including innocent children and American soldiers.

Science is worth fighting for.
Iβm proud to join @standupforscience.bsky.social to stand up for vaccines that prevent disease, for research that cures cancer, for data that helps us confront climate change, and for discoveries we cannot even imagine yet.

Long overdue. The plaque honoring the officers who defended the Capitol on January 6 was installed albeit with no moment to publicly recognize the courage of those who risked their lives to protect our democracy.
Honoring them shouldn't be controversial.
When American workers have to dip into their 401(k)s just to cover emergencies, thatβs a ringing alarm bell about the state of our economy. Americans simply canβt afford Donald Trumpβs harmful policies.
Trump is abusing the powers of the Executive to turn a simple contract dispute into a complicated legal battle with major implications for American businesses.
Here's a breakdown of the truth of what's going on, and what Congress should do to stop it:
One of the primary reasons the State Department exists is to serve Americans abroad, and they're desperately failing at that right now. Iβve heard from many families whose loved ones are stranded abroad.
The Trump Administration must get our people home.

We cannot simply brush this aside because sheβs been dismissed, those actions must be fully and independently investigated.
Serious questions also remain about Noemβs unconstitutional guidance, refusal to comply with lawful court orders, refusal to disperse disaster aid, and her obstruction of independent investigations into the killings of U.S. citizens in Minnesota.
Trumpβs decision to fire Noem is long overdue. But this doesnβt address the deeper lawlessness and abuses that continue to plague DHS.
The American public deserves clear commitments that DHS will follow the rule of law, and that there will be real transparency and accountability for misconduct.
Mounting uncertainty is leading companies to slow hiring.
Meanwhile, as Americans pay more for groceries, electricity, housing, and health care, Republicans in Congress continue to cede their power to rein in the Trump Administrationβs catastrophic and harmful policies.
Meanwhile, service-sector hiring β especially in healthcare, which has long been the main engine of job growth β is slowing and reporting losses.
The disastrous consequences of Trumpβs erratic decisions are becoming clearer by the day.
Far from sparking a manufacturing renaissance, Trumpβs tariffs have worsened a months-long slide in blue-collar employment. Those jobs now sit roughly half a million below what was projected in 2023 and 2024.
Already under strain from the Presidentβs trade war and anti-immigrant crusade, our economy is extremely ill-prepared to deal with yet another wave of Trump-induced chaos, this time in the form of an illegal war of choice in the Middle East which is rapidly driving up energy prices across the globe.
Today's jobs report found the economy shed 92,000 jobs, raising the unemployment rate to 4.4 percent β one of the highest rates since 2021.
Since Trumpβs tariffs took effect, the economy on balance lost 19,000 jobs.
This should be a flashing red warning light for the Trump Administration.

a graph of year-on-year change in US Blue Collar Employment
The US continues losing blue-collar jobsβyear-on-year job losses have hit 238k as manufacturing, transportation, & mining industries lose jobs at a rapid pace, while growth in construction remains low
ICE and CBP killed two American citizens and caused the deaths of immigrants who did nothing wrong.
Yet, Republicans refuse to rein them in.
I voted NO on this bill to fund DHS because Congress shouldnβt give these lawless agencies a blind eye or a blank check.
The House just defeated the Iran War Powers Resolution.
A tragic mistake, but it is not a war authorization.
Under the Constitution, Trump's war remains illegal without authorization from Congress.
Congress shouldn't vote to fund a war it has not authorizedβnot another penny.
Good - and I cannot emphasize this enough - riddance.
