to me, “you should create for yourself” and “you deserve to be acknowledged for what you make” are two statements that should coexist. chasing engagement will rot your soul, while being neglected will see your passion wither. loving what you make is a failsafe for when the engagement never comes.

A lil reminder: Praise an OC that you like, whether it's because of their appearance or their story. Yap about them, about the parts that you think are amazing, show them that you care, and the person who created them will definitely be very happy -Sometimes, a lil kindness can make someone's day.

the labor of art is mostly invisible. what you don't see in a finished piece is all the hours of thought it required, all the little discoveries and surprises and tragedies of production. art IS the process. if you aren't interested in the process, then i don't really know why you want to be artist
