At a crossroad, we see the number 6, but with googly Eyes, a tiny mouth and arms.

It says: "After you"

From its left another number is approaching, with its leading digit also having eyes, arms and a mouth.

But the number is 3.1415…

A scene at a marsh in late Winter. There is some brush in the foreground and a huge spray of water behind it. The outermost feathers of one wing of an osprey can be seen above the spray, and some of the other wing can be seen. Most of the bird and the fish it was catching are obscured.

Imagine the drama of an osprey hitting the water, deadly talons seizing a terrified fish, water splashing everywhere. Well, you will just have to image most of that because this is a #FridayPhotoFail post! Just as this scene was unfolding some unwanted brush […]

Costa Rica has completely reversed its rampant deforestation from the 20th century, lifting natural forest cover from under 25% by 1985 to well over half the country today. A national payments for ecosystem services scheme helped, along with a 1996 ban on converting natural forest, a beef-price […]

Looks like the uni departments don't exist either. So is this a journal making fake articles for itself to appear more legit? That's the only people I can think of as benefitting from this.

Just come across a paper in a journal I've never heard of, and the references are real (the ones I've checked; one has an typoed page number but otherwise fine) and attributed to the right people, but many of them have titles that aren't a 100% match, and there are no in-text refs. Weird?!

Did you know that Viagra comes in grape flavor?

I learned that when I put $10k on my credit card on a Friday night to buy grape Viagra. But upside, it meant that I could take my newborn son, who had just had open heart surgery, home from the hospital.

Here's hoping it can help other families.

This ‘fairyland’ bog is a beacon for winter birders – and a sponge for the climate Even when it's freezing and covered in snow, Minnesota's Sax-Zim Bog attracts birders from around the world. They flock there hoping to spot owls, hawks and rare songbirds that spend most of their time in northern Canada.

Nice story on #Birding in N. Minnesota; specifically birding in Sax Zim Bog.
