I would post here more but most of my Twitter mutuals who switched fully to Bluesky ended up becoming inactive here too, and just dropping off the internet

somehow I have the exact same number of followers here as I do on Instagram
They should make the teams swap places for one game
doesn't seem cool that teams can just turn an evening game into an afternoon game with <24 hours' notice ๐ฅธ
lol I stayed at the hotel in the 4th pic during my Quebec trip last year. Touring the National Assembly and the Citadel was fun but I found the English-speaking restaurants to be expensive and not very good compared to Montreal
Just watched a plane go by whose flashing lights were perfectly synced with the beat of the Kelly Lee Owens song Iโm listening to
Bluesky seems to have removed my link (???) but here it is: commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Ty...
Came across a Wikipedia user who took public domain aerial photos in the early 2000s and stopped when Google Maps started doing satellite imagery ๐

DOGE has now turned its sights on a small agency that provides support for community programs in every state. The National Endowment for the Humanities, which funds museums, historic sites, libraries, educators and media outlets across the country, has been told to slash staff by 70-80 percent.๐งต

The airport designator "SUX" has been contentious, due to the name sounding identical to the slang word "sucks".[10] Sioux City Mayor Craig Berenstein in 2002 described SUX as an "embarrassment" to the city.[11] After petitioning the FAA for a changed airport identifier in 1998 and 2002, authorities found the alternatives offered - GWU, GYO, GYT, SGV, and GAY - to be unappealing, and elected to stay with SUX.[11] In October 2007, airport board member Dave Bernstein proposed embracing the identifier, saying "Let's make the best of it. I think we have the opportunity to turn it into a positive," and noting "I've got buddies that I went to college with in different cities that can't even remember their own birthdays, but they all know the Sioux City designator โ SUX."[11] The airport now sells merchandise with the words "Fly SUX

I've barely been listening to music lately so my weekly chart is kind of silly
really curious how Obsidian manages to feel really fast and keep itself in the ~100 MB memory range despite being built with Electron, it's very impressive
I think most of the complaints that Bluesky feels "sterile" are because of the UI. There's just a lot less going on visually than Twitter, especially on desktop. The busy-ness makes the site feel more active.
I mean tweetdelete.net for Bluesky
is there a decent third-party app to autodelete Bluesky posts after x amount of time? I would post here more if something like that existed.
switched back to Safari and my battery life is noticeably better ๐ค
2018-2022 were all really easy choices for me. 23 was hard, and now 24 is too. Most of my top albums last year were not from 2024.
just realized I haven't officially named my 2024 album of the year. lots of good albums, it's hard to pick but these are the top four I'm thinking of.
just heard someone in the distance howling like a dog after that touchdown
so much fun watching this FRAUD football team finally fall apart humiliatingly in front of 100+ million people
I've read over 300 pages since posting this, library return deadlines are such a good motivator
I'm excited to try Civ 7 in 2-3 years
I would have deleted my Twitter ages ago and switched to Bluesky but the private account feature is essential for me lol, I feel like I have to filter to a much more boring version of myself to post here
seems like the Grammys are more hyped this year than they've been in a while
That paragraph was a roller coaster, Robert Caro is quite a researcher
