Thanks Naelok. Honestly everyone has said she's doing relatively better than most stroke victims. I certainly see a huge improvement between what I'd heard of her status on day zero and now (day ~15).
We're cautiously optimistic!

@mmm0pan.bsky.social totally not rude my friend, I'm so glad you shared! I've seen your sketches btw, me and my editor geeked out over them together :)
I've actually been rereading this while caring for my mother after her stroke. It's been lonely and hard, so this was right on time. Thank you :)
Fellow Americans, you and I pay the men who killed Alex Pretti. We bought the pepper spray they used to blind him.
We bought the guns and the bullets used to summarily execute him.
Our money pays officials to lie about his murder.
They picked our pockets and are terrorizing us with the proceeds.
If there's a general strike and I walk off the dayjob while still writing at home, I'm technically a both scab and a striker. A man of two faces, one foot in two worlds. Born to be a prince, chose to be a a pauper.

They are never, ever going to win in Minnesota.
This isn't going to be the last time. The administration will stand by its Proud Boys and Oathkeepers, the goons will feel empowered, and more triggers will be pulled in even less excusable circumstances. It only ends when we decide it ends β either because we gave in, or because we stopped it.
Spent way too much time writing this. But darn if I don't enjoy it!

@dianaofsyracuse.bsky.social 'tis an honor π
One of my deathbed memories will surely be our discussion about the similarities between 40k and life in Hong Kong
And great time to mention I'm on a Necron spree β "Infinite and the Divine" is next on my list π―
(Just finished Severed by @frogcroakley.bsky.social and WOW. I'm spoiling myself.)
I wish I could @felixfire.bsky.social β really! β but I fear I'd be creating legal risk exposure if down the road I were to write something even remotely similar to whatever it is you're doing. Not that that would be intentional! But you know how good ideas can linger and evolve
demonstrate pretty well.
Hopefully I'll be able to provide a closer look of what the Hundred Eyes look like when they're in action :) I'll be *so* thrilled if they ever make it to the light of the codex.
@heretical-hatter.bsky.social β thank you and Hayden for this, and for tagging me!!
named after the Eastern Depot (www.britannica.com/topic/Easter...), if I recall correctly. And before that, when I was figuring out how to write about them, I had imagined them as all water caste. But I quickly realized that wouldn't make sense or offer enough utility, which modern intel services...
@heretical-hatter.bsky.social This is incredible. I see your older version too. I can absolutely imagine different members in the intelligence cliques wearing their own caste's version, too.
Fun fact, I spent a long time trying to figure out what to name the Hundred Eyes. My first draft had them...
It's like, I have a family I love, I got to write for Black Library, I saw Predator: Badlands. What's left in life? I don't even know. I guess I need to buy it and watch it on repeat.
Just saw Predator: Badlands and holy shit. Just wow. 11/10 so much story, phenomenal acting, teach me your ways Dek and Dan Trachtenberg. Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, Elle Fanning, and the anonymous soldier android actor(s?) killed it. I don't even know what to do with my life now.
I have nothing to report on this front yet. (But hot damn if those suits don't look GREAT!!)

Has anyone asked you about the Twin Lances yet? Like the models? Any lore insights?
Well when I did it I got sucked into Ghur through a Last Action Hero style portal to hunt Kragnos with her. She learned to respect mortals during our quest, I learned not to f*** with Yndrasta.
(I think it pulls up an electronic version with a description/background.)
The other day on my pilgrimmage to Warhammer World I found the original painting of Yndrasta on the 3rd ed. AoS core book!
meet many of these people I'm describing in the abstract. I honestly could not have been more impressed, both by my cohort of fellow writers and the staff at BL. Truly glorious.
Going to try and make this a yearly thing!
It's a fantastic example of customer-friendly business priorities, and I think it's no small reflection of how many GW/BL staff are also customers themselves. They just care.
BTW, this is a good time to mention how I just came off a pilgrimmage to Holy Nottingham and was fortunate enough to...
operational controls that prevent this activity don't always pay off (as alluded to in the article; scalpers are adaptable and don't play by any rules). The ROI is never simple to understand.
All this is why I'm quite proud as a freelance collaborator to see actions taken here...
and that's healthy for the bottom line. You'll often see ad platforms knowingly service criminals who propagate malicious websites just because the criminals pay for the ads β and because there's enough anonymity for plausible deniability.
Even more relevant, the costs of implementing...
what the best business decisions to make are.
In this case, speaking as an outside observer, I've been so impressed, because these particular business decisions aren't easy. Any other publisher in this situation could easily continue doing business as usual, because scalpers also buy product...
These Black Library Goonhammer digests are quickly becoming a staple reading for me. So many good updates @theblacklibrarian.bsky.social !
In particular, the commentary on GW/BL's anti-scalping efforts is interesting. All businesses have to weigh risks and mitigations. This helps determine...
@adler-auge.bsky.social that's an honor to hear! You have been marked for elevation to the next rank π
Hope you enjoy the rest of it just as much as you've enjoyed it thus far!
Black Library Authors Rob Young, Jude Reid, Victoria Hayward, Rob Rath, Noah Nguyen, John French, Rich McCormick, Gav Thorpe, Jon Beer, Marc Collins, Mike Vincent, Robbie MacNiven and Mike Brooks
A veritable Exterminatus of Black Library Authors descended upon Warhammer World today!
You may find that a few Black Library books in the store have now been signed βοΈ

Gave me a reason to do long-awaited magnetizing.
Back in 3rd ed. I chose the shadow grey color scheme they illustrated (maps pretty closely on to Sa'cea). I played around with it over some years. If I could redo it I would try and reproduce that camo!)
Oh geez this bronze trim is a really nice contrast!
