Growing up in the PNW, “you guys” was the default. When I moved to Tucson over a decade ago, I began working remotely with folks from all over, especially the South, so “y’all” slipped into my vocabulary without a fight, particularly since it’s non-gendered. But today I heard something I never expected in the wild. “Y’all guys.” I’m still trying to recover.

Growing up in the PNW, “you guys” was the default. Watched del Toro’s Frankenstein last night. Absolutely loved it. It’s the first classic-horror adaptation since Coppola’s Dracula (’92) that feels like pure myth instead of just a monster movie. Handcrafted visuals, real emotional weight, and a Creature with an actual soul. What did you think?
