When I tried using FA as platform myself before, I was just overwhelmed by the sheer volume of stuff going on (a lot of which was just reposts of the same commission ads) and how most of it was for extreme fetish stuff.

Just imagine you're foreign to this entire ecosystem. You managed to find that thread through google somehow, now you have to look for the people posting that they have them and attempt to contact via another social media channel cause the forum, too, requires having an account. I'd just leave.

If you know where to ask and actually speak up, I guess. But the barrier itself already deters plenty of people. Best case is you have to know someone that already has an account to get one on your behalf.

If you plan to sell through that keep in mind it's kind of difficult for random people online to register on it with the whole invite code nonsense, even moreso than BSky was. You'll have more luck finding active users on Furaffinity than here probably.

To my knowledge it's mainly used for archiving and documentation. In the adoptable sphere it's used to keep track of current ownership and original designers but ion interact with that part of the platform to tell if it is actively used for anything beyond transactions (like browsing/chatting).
