Design consistency, high resolution, no shading, shows all features in a compact and simple way. If the character has a complex marking/tattoo, put that marking flat at a higher resolution somewhere in the ref. Show eyes and mouth colors. Simple bg that doesn't clash with the character's colors. Etc

I've been really happy to find more people making efforts to keep the internet alive, I love the idea of going back to personal blogs! But if they're fully ok with the idea of people not having Personal Computers anymore, that means it's gonna be more expensive to be within that movement :(

maybe this is an extremely millenial thing to get bummed about and I understand if I just come across as kinda cringe.
but the internet at some point was a really cool place and it made a lot of really neat things happen.
and I think it has more potential than what Capitalism made out of it. :(
