i just learned that doctors can remove one of your teeth, implant a lens into the tooth then put the tooth in your eye socket and you can see through the lens in your tooth in your eye. it doesn’t look like a normal eye but holy moly that’s amazing. and they’ve been doing this for over 50 years!

Here's video of Steve Bannon doing a Sieg Heil today at CPAC. It is what it is and it's what Bannon intended. Don't let yourself be gaslit.

As an adult I have watched Bush then Trump just do stuff and also heard for 12 years from Obama then Biden how they “can’t just” do 10 million things

just realized the cmnd+shift+U keyboard shortcut in Figma to add a link is kinda a mnemonic for “(Superpowered) Underline,” which makes me a teeny bit sad.

All of this water is being wasted, none of it will be available to the farmers he’s trying to suck up to when they need it, and none of it would have done a thing to stop wildfires. Utter, disastrous madness

The United States built a publicly funded scientific enterprise that worked miracles. We went to the moon and mars, laid the groundwork for computing revolutions, turned AIDS from a death sentence to a chronic condition, drastically cut cancer deaths. And now we're just going to dismantle it?

I hear there are stories coming, but putting the brakes on our country’s world-leading medical research system feels like a five alarm fire and I don’t see a newspaper that even has it on the front page yet

Healthcare dot gov Time magazine cover.
The cover is all red with the words code red written in all caps as a subtitle. The caption underneath the subtitle reads "Inside the nightmare launch of healthcare.gov and the team that figured out how to fix it."
Below that is a photograph of us digital service founders, including Mikey Dickerson.
Pour one out for the US Digital Service.
This amazing team was founded during the Obama administration. They convinced some of the best and brightest minds in tech, to give up wealth and RSUs and free lattes, to dedicate their professional lives to service.♥️👍🏿
It just got renamed to DOGE.

The opportunity benefit often is/appears lower than the 1st time around because the bar is already “high enough.” And if the product has grown, (which is likely), a redesign will require more design effort than last time around.

for a product already differentiating by design/UX, it can be a “moment of truth” to decide if it’s worth it to keep that up.
