I came to bsky because Twitter is shitty and I wanted to continue following artists
Turns out bsky is also shitty but at least (for now) I can still see artists I like without ads
I never did like Twitter, still annoyed I have to brave a Twitter-alike just to see art

Had a dream where I was helping with a class for elementary schoolers and they were taking a quiz on zoomer slang and the one I remember was that 26 was slang for 25. Like the numbers. The entire quiz was like that. I felt very old but it was all nonsense
I’m excited to see what apps it might have in the near future if people do adopt it; seems ripe for interesting features, but I suppose time will tell
Downloaded Root to see if it’s better than Discord or will make for a good replacement to Discord. Initial thoughts are that it has some rough edges but it already has text channels and voice/video call channels so it’s well on its way to being a replacement.

To say nothing of how hard “running two systems to play one game” sounds, though I’ve yet to find one complete game system that would meet my needs and I don’t want to write my own system.
I want to run a magical girl/tokusatsu ttrpg with the on-foot fighting being run with ICON and the giant robot fighting being run with Lancer. This is hard because ICON isn’t actually in full release and neither system is really “for” this kind of setting so it would be a lot of work to adapt
Also watching sailor stars again may have not helped with my recent bout of dysphoria because I mean… the starlights. If you know you know
To be fair; it does make more sense overall in the manga even if I don’t hate what they chose for the anime.
My wife was watching sailor moon with me for the first time (it was a rewatch for me) she was able to guess some things but occasionally there was a curveball; the largest was that she guessed who Chibi-chibi was, but only in the manga. Which is weird to get the right answer for the wrong continuity
I remember hearing (and loving) that song since I was a small child. It’s heartbreaking that it’s just “the stranger things song” now
It’s fascinating watching Sailor Stars again and realizing some of the foreshadowing works for the manga ending as much as the anime ending even though they’re different endings. Also Chibi-chibi makes me miss Chibiusa, bring my girl back!

I wish being trans was widely seen as normal, unremarkable, not noteworthy, run of the mill, common, etc.
There are a lot of genuine ethical concerns about ai and its use but some of yall are acting like puritans clutching their pearls about the devil instead of adults thinking critically about a very real set of problems
I also find companies shoehorning ai into everything is annoying but I also don’t think something being annoying is reason to ban it, please think with your brain
Annoyed at the reasons people bring up for why ai is “bad”; I’m not arguing for the use of generative ai, but I do think a lot of absolutely bunk arguments are getting thrown around that have very little basis in ethics or the hard facts, which is where opposition should be coming from
It’s funny to see the steam machine because it feels like the console cycle coming full circle, I can’t quite imagine getting one for myself but I’m also glad it’s going to exist
I’m not going to get all the way into it but clearly someone was told to combine concepts and didn’t think carefully about what that might do to the existing setting of 5e and its model of the universe
Thinking about the official 5e Spelljammer setting books today and how they disappointed me, and then ran into “One of the ways they oversimplified one of the compelling aspects of the setting also doesn’t make sense within the internal logic of 5e and in fact breaks a lot of it”
…the story ABOUT that, about their deficiencies or problems or just avoiding lionizing or romanticizing them, but at the heart of it that’s not the story I want to tell. Which means I just move to the next idea, but it’s also odd knowing most people wouldn’t give it a second thought
