It's funny because it's true.
It's funny because it's true.
Just heard that Maevius Lynn made a video denouncing her terrible experience with her local O.T.O. body, only for them to pressure her in removing it.
Good old “fair game” at play. Now, if only people reported their own experiences for years, always telling the same story, always ignored… 🤷🏻♂️
Do not let people gaslight you into believing any of this is "good" or "normal". Fight for every single step of progress we collectively achieved and maintained since WWII.
Liber AL itself reminds us that the servants of Nuit are “few & secret.” I go into the devotional and mystical side of this at length in Aleister Crowley’s Mysticism. 🔚

Most people need a measure of eclecticism at first because Thelema asks us to revise almost everything we have been taught about ourselves and the world. That takes time, sometimes years. Many never fully accept the Law of the New Aeon, and that too is fine. ⬇️
It is telling that the very person who helped popularise that label later declared, quite loudly, that all those years in OTO had amounted to nothing anyway. But the deeper point is simpler. ⬇️
So yes, honour Hecate if that current genuinely speaks to you, but keep the centre of your practice where Thelema places it.
This is also why I have little patience for the sneering talk about “Consensus Thelema,” usually thrown around by people who mistake rigidity and orthodoxy for attainment. ⬇️
That does not abolish devotion but reorients it. Crowley’s Liber Astarte uses deity worship as a method rather than an endpoint: a way of awakening the divine image within, and ultimately of approaching the Holy Guardian Angel. ⬇️
Older words like worship and devotion may make people uneasy, but they are often far more honest.
In Thelema proper, the sole visible object of worship is Horus, as Liber AL vel Legis makes plain. ⬇️
Someone asked how to incorporate “working with Hecate” into a beginning Thelemic practice. First, I would happily retire that modern occult phrase, because it drains reverence out of the whole matter and turns devotion into a kind of spiritual project management. 🧵⬇️
Musings after last night's talk: Magick should help secure the basics: food, shelter, dignity. But once that foundation exists, the task is not endless accumulation. In a world of contraction and instability, spiritual growth gives you an inner centre from which you can become a light for others.
Required reading, since people still mistake it for something valid.
Being raise Catholic, I quickly came to the conclusion that guilt and shame are useless emotions mainly used to enforce a rigid conformity
But after seeing the rampant evil on display in the US government, I grudgingly admit that guilt and shame, so obviously lacking in that bunch, are needed
It’s worth considering that when you join an A.’.A.’. group, you are joining an Outer College that teaches what used to be secret or ‘inner teachings’, but having a syllabus, personal testing and training, is basically exoteric then the deeper sense. This is like going to Hogwarts, it’s training.
The Inner college, I.e the Rose Cross, is by invitation only. Not that some person will invite you, but the HGA, the universe, that force which governs our lives, brings you into intimate contact with itself. ‘Schools out’ so to speak.
Happy World Book Day!
Sam Tripoli is an absolute moron. There’s nothing else to add, really. I had the displeasure of being on his errand boy’s podcast a few years ago and got my words twisted and reframed in edit. These people don’t care about truth but only to keep selling fear to their gullible followers.
A bunch of American "Thelemites", mostly O.T.O. and all fans of the late Jim Wasserman, are pushing America as "Horus Country" and other nonsense in support of the current war.
Hot take for the Star-Spangled Thelemite: the Logos of the New Aeon did not file paperwork with the State Department.
“America First” is politics, not prophecy. Stop baptising nationalism in Horus and calling it magick, and if you need a flag to feel holy, try a different religion.
Welcome to my life 😂
They never stop.
THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT!
Email me@marcovisconti.org if you want to be put on the waiting list, so that in case someone cannot make it anymore can contact you and sell you their ticket.
You don’t need a group to train in magick. You just don’t.
Most of the best magicians I know today are those who trained alone during the lockdowns.
The enforced solitude of those years is what forged their resolve and will and properly fuelled their knowledge.
And yes, the older I get, the more I regret spending any amount of my life debating these questions publicly with people who treat nuance as an enemy and misrepresentation as a hobby. 🔚
I would like to make it clear that I recognise the article isn't perfect, and I am, in fact, using it as the basis for a long rewrite that will appear in my third and final book, dedicated to my own understanding of Thelema, this time to Babalon and the experience of the Abyss. ⬇️
What I actually said, six or seven years ago, is exactly what I wrote at the time. If you want my position, read it there, in my own words, rather than in someone else’s second-hand melodrama: ecclesiagnosticauniversalis.org/concerning-h... ⬇️
This time, the claim is that I told someone in New York they “cannot be a Thelemite” because they are asexual or demisexual. That is not only false, but it is also the kind of distortion that can only survive in the telling, never in the record. ⬇️
It’s come to my attention that, once again, a certain corner of the US Thelema internet is once again circulating nonsense about me. It happens like clockwork every single time I push back against their ultra-libertarian and neofascist nonsense. 🧵⬇️
Thanks to @yuriabietti.bsky.social for getting lost in Thelemic mysticism with me!
