But Trump said their nuclear program and facilities were "obliterated" less than a year ago, Lindsay. Did he lie to us?

WATCH — @jamestalarico.bsky.social : “Every dollar we spend bombing people in the Middle East is one we’re not spending here at home. We’re always told we don’t have enough money for schools or healthcare or for veterans, but there’s always enough to bomb people on the other side of the world.”

A candid color photograph of Nadia Murad taken around 2019 (likely at an event hosted by or related to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs), showing her seated at a table in what appears to be a formal or diplomatic setting. She is a woman in her mid-20s with long dark hair parted in the center, wearing subtle makeup, small earrings, and a black top under a blue-and-red plaid blazer or jacket. A thin gold necklace is visible. Her expression is warm and slightly amused, with a gentle smile and eyes looking slightly off-camera, conveying poise, intelligence, and approachability amid a backdrop of ornate historical painting or tapestry on the wall featuring figures in period clothing. A white napkin and glass are partially visible on the table in the foreground. The image captures her as a leading global advocate for survivors of genocide and conflict-related sexual violence, emphasizing her dignified presence in international advocacy spaces.

A vibrant official NASA portrait of astronaut Laurel Clark, mission specialist on STS-107 (Space Shuttle Columbia), taken before her 2003 flight. She is shown in a three-quarter view, smiling warmly at the camera with an open, confident expression. She has shoulder-length curly brown hair and fair skin. She wears the bright orange NASA launch-and-entry suit (ACES), complete with the American flag patch on her left shoulder, NASA insignia on the chest, her name tag "LAUREL CLARK" with gold wings above it, and the STS-107 mission patch on the left chest. She rests her right arm/hand on her black-and-white NASA helmet. The helmet's reflective visor shows faint reflections of lights and surroundings. Behind her are two large vertical flags: the U.S. flag on the left with stars and stripes visible, and a dark blue NASA banner with partial text "AND SPACE A" (likely "National Aeronautics and Space Administration") on the right. The background is softly lit with a gradient of warm tones, emphasizing her poised and approachable demeanor as a physician, naval officer, and space explorer who tragically perished in the Columbia disaster. The overall composition conveys professionalism, pride, and dedication to space exploration.

A sepia-toned, layered artistic collage created in a vintage photographic style to honor Harriet Tubman (c. 1822–1913), the renowned abolitionist, Underground Railroad conductor, scout, spy, nurse, and suffragist. The central focus is a large, intense close-up portrait of Harriet Tubman wearing her signature dark headscarf or bandana, with a strong, resolute expression and direct gaze toward the viewer. Surrounding and overlapping this main image are several smaller, faded, and translucent portraits of her at different ages and in different poses: some show her in profile or three-quarter view, others in period clothing (long dresses, shawls, or simple blouses), and one includes a small statue or figurine of her holding a staff or lantern symbolizing guidance and freedom. The overlapping layers create a ghostly, multi-generational effect emphasizing her enduring legacy and presence. The overall warm brown tones and soft blending evoke 19th-century photography, making this a powerful tribute intended for Harriet Tubman Day, highlighting her singular courage and impact in the fight against slavery and for human rights.

Born into slavery, Harriet Tubman was an abolitionist. After her own escape, she made 13 missions to rescue enslaved people using the network of antislavery activists & safe houses known as the Underground Railroad. She died #OTD in 1913.

Yes, but the IDs we've always used--our drivers' licenses--won't be enough. We have to buy a passport, and maybe a copy of our birth certificates (even if we're not travelling out of the country). And our legal name has to match our birth name, which will disenfranchise millions of women. So ...

And the Republican Party is doing nothing to stop him.

One of my kid’s favorite books. My toddler had me read it tonight. He loves pointing at the baby in the Iranian family.

I wonder if we killed Kian and his baby sister yet. I wonder if they’re reading together as oil rains down and their streets burst into flames.

I get yelled at for saying this but for many hundreds of years people went to university not to get diplomas or be employable but because immersion in the humanities was considered foundational to a good life, and school must return to its original purpose: the joy of learning.
