On the Mid and North Island, the Tories saw decent gains, enough to flip Courtenay-Comox and North Island. Adam Walker took a chunk in Ladysmith-Oceanside, stemming any Conservative growth in the riding. Interestingly, the NDP and Tories both saw growth in Nanaimo-Lantzville.

Over in Victoria, the Tories saw slight gains on their BC United predecessors, but the NDP held their own, while fending off Sonia Furstenau's bid to move to Beacon Hill.

In the Interior, the sight is the independents that litter the Okanagan and the Kootenays each driving their little 20-point swings. With the Tories taking a notable chunk in Kootenay-Monashee, and the NDP seeing a lurch leftward in Kelowna Centre, thanks to Loyal Wooldridge

The Lower Mainland has seen two very different directions of polarization. The Fraser Valley, Tri-Cities, Burnaby, and especially Surrey swung hard right. Vancouver was more mixed, with the usually more United-friendly and wealthier west of the city swinging NDP.

With all the American arrow graphics, I wanted to experiment with this more.

It'll be more interesting when we get poll-by-poll, but for now, 2024 BC Provincial Election, by swing per riding.
The at large view doesn't say as much, but we can dig deeper 🧡

I didn't know if I had already told you this so I didn't break into the full-full rant, but yeah I should've just called her a straight up traitor. Like nevermind bad for America the tariffs are targeted against our own fucking country.

I mean I know you get it obviously but the tariffs shit really bugs me because on election night I had my *Canadian* aunt texting me about how cool tariffs are and I actually want to lose it from how delusional people are about how trade works

Even if America had the minerals I'm still confused why lower value mining jobs are preferable to higher end final assembly, sales and service jobs

I bought a Sportsnet sub again to learn that buying it through prime actually makes it work better.
