An image from Bloodborne showing a street jutting off of a courtyard in Yharnam, a gothic-victorian nightmare of a city. In the foreground, the player character stands with her back to the camera. She wears a black cloak, slathered in blood (not hers) and holds a saw with a wooden handle and gnarly looking teeth in the blade in her right hand, plus a blunderbuss in her left hand. Next to her is a tall man in a wide-brimmed hat, a long white scarf, and a long black coat. He also holds a pair of weapons. Above him floats the name and title "Old Hunter Father Gascoigne". The two characters look at a large man in the distance pounding on a door. To the right is an abandoned carriage. To the left is a coffin wrapped in chains and locked.

A screenshot from Bloodborne. It shows a player character standing in the Hunter's Dream, a small workshop of sorts. There's a large fireplace, a statue of a woman in robes behind many candles, gloriously detailed wood arched ceilings and wainscoting, shelving with all manner of containers, stacks of assorted books on various surfaces (including the floor), and a bench over which hang saw blades suspended by chains. It's an odd mix of comfortable, cozy, and foreboding. Two small windows in the high reaches of the space cast white Sundays into the room's warmer tones from the fire.

Been too long away from Yharnam. Bloodborne is one of my all-time favorite games and somehow I still never finished the DLC all those years ago, despite having like 300 hours in the game. Time to finally rectify that. #bloodborne #horrorsky #gamesky

Grieving his fatherโ€™s suicide, Tom isolates himself at a remote lakeside cottage, unaware that something ancient and malevolent lies beneath the water.

A โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…ยฝ review of Honey Bunch (2025) I really liked this. An interesting mix of quirky, tense, and tender. Not much can be said that doesn't get into spoilers, but I'll say this: while I've seen variations on this story plenty of times, ...

What a lovely film. Not the most original, but its own twist on the concept, and the final act really hit me. I love when a horror movie (though this one is quite mild) isn't afraid to be sweet and sad as well. #horrorsky #mjrfilms

tiny men co-opt what they considered "truth" only insofar as they could use it to exploit people and scrape together power; but it did open me somehow, in a new way. To new honesty and deeper truths. To a darkness I was surprised to find close, warm, and only a little darker than I'd imagined. 3/3

my and others' pain, regardless of belief, prayer, or practice, led to agnosticism for a while that I knew was atheism but was afraid to name so. My mother passing made that easier. Watching my former beliefs get co-opted by the absolute worst of humankind didn't open my eyes, as I'd seen before 2/3

I don't know if there was one. I'd felt wrong since birth, really, like life wasn't anything anyone was telling me it was. I worried there was a hollow at the center of it, and while I was a Christian about as hard as one could be, that suspicion only grew. God's complete silence in the face of 1/3

I have created a diorama of the Partridge family attacking the Brady Bunch family. My life is very boring.

A still from Honey Bunch. It shows the main character, a white woman with blond hair (Grace Glowicki), in a bathtub. She has a slightly confused and bewildered expression, mouth open slightly, tears forming in her eyes. Green plants sit in the background.

Okay, at the encouragement of @christaqua.bsky.social, I'm back to watching Honey Bunch on Shudder. Started it and got waylaid. Hadn't had time to go back and finish (was only 20 minutes in), so now I've got a pizza and one-third of an edible ... let's finish this up. #nowwatching #mjrfilms

Imagine the reaction in the US if ~175 schoolgirls had been killed by a targeted Iranian missile. (Or anyone's missile.)

This is an atrocity.

Time to run screaming from the digital void this morning into the warm, velvety comfort of a paper notebook. And if it gets really bad, maybe I can exsanguinate myself with a paper cut.
