The system makes everyone so bitter and so apathetic and so hopeless. And yet so many of them somehow STILL try and defend this system. I just don’t get it.
Mostly I blame the system for all of this. For essentially turning people into shells or zombies for the system. My dad has always been hardworking, but all of the time he says “I’m just a slave” when he goes to work. I blame the system for shoving propaganda into their brains. They are killing us.
At least when I call my dad we can have conversations back and forth. But most of the time it could go weeks without them initiating contact me. It just makes me sad. 😩
When I call her and ask her what she is doing or how she is she just says she is “doing nothing” or watching tv with dad. Doesn’t ask about me or my life or how I am. When I talk with her mostly what she responds with is “uh huh, yep” so the convo is very one sided.
+ there are several people in my family with history of mental illness. My mom literally does nothing and it makes me both angry and sad. She doesn’t work so she sits on the couch 24/7 and either watches tv or sleeps. Nothing seems to help to get her to change. It’s like she is checked out of life.
I know that many of these things are byproducts of our insanely corrupt and disgusting system in the USA. People feel like zombies-they just get up, go to work, go home and eat and endlessly scroll on the phone and watch something on a streaming service and then repeat the next day. Survival mode.
I’m the challenger of the family. I don’t care about how it’s perceived. I love them, but I will call them out on bs. I’m not silent about things that matter. I want to shake them and be like “WHY DOES THIS NOT AFFECT YOU”?! It’s like they have become shells of themselves and seem soulless.
Getting really sick of a majority of my family that seems to not care at all about what is happening here in the USA. I periodically send them info about what is going on with photos/videos and all I get is *crickets*. And It feels like they despise me because they never initiate contact with me.
I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy.
I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.
