In my experience I've actually found them quite talented at identifying errors and conflicts.
Given vague contexts they'll definitely write some weird code but I think a lot of LLM bad output is user error.

I've come to the conclusion that honest hardworking devs that study and write their own code are old school wizards, while devs pledging their loyalty to a (probably evil) higher power to wield magic they don't fully understand are warlocks.
