The ONLY issue is the Longbow. As I said in my previous thread, it's a metal mini and this VERY heavy compared to the plastics and the 3d printed Resin. I'll probably hollow the back part of the main body to carry it seperate from the others

Resized the front part of the body 10%, again hollowed it and split it to make a lid, and added magnets... SUCCESS! All 12 minis fit, and the bottom is lined in magnetic sheeting so I can magnetize the minis for storage. All that's left is printing the rest (aft section, wings, landing gear and gun)
So overnight I tried printing the Dropship I mentioned yesterday hollowed out, and while it is wide and deep enough to hold the 12 minis I want it to, it's not HIGH enough (missing maybe a couple CMs. I'll try and rescale it just a tad this evening to see the result
Though I just realized my Longbow is a METAL mini, and significantly heavier than the others. So I'd need to secure it in a different way (will probably use magnets for the others) otherwise it would move around inside the case and likely damage the other minis (especially the 3d printed ones)
... Not that any of the Aces scenarios uses a Dropship as terrain. Buuuuuut if I can get my buddies to develop a Battletech Itch and we start doing games outside of the scenario pack, weeeellllll.... (Evil grin)
Technically in Canon a Leopard can only carry 4 Mechs, but if just used as terrain it should be able to carry up to 12. Which would be the exact number I'd need to carry our Aces unit (I can carry the Falcon units using the Aces box as it has inserts specifically designed for those)
MMM. During my break I looked at MMF and found a free Leopard Dropship, Mech Scaled. Looking at the comments someone thought "hey that thing can be modified to have a magnet lid to carry a BT Army". When I get home tonight I'll download it to see if I can do it

Random thought:
An Army carrying case for Battletech (say that can hold like 12 minis) BUT that looks like a Dropship, sized to also act as terrain
Get to it, 3D Printer designers
D) all minis are official plastic, my OLD Ral Partha metal Longbow, and the 4 minis that are 3d printed are either because there are no minis for them (Stalking Spider II and Arbalest), or I couldn't find my old metal minis of the figures (Trebuchet and Hatchetman)
...switch configs. b) I'm using my Gothic Firestarter so we could have two of them on the table. C) I couldn't find any suitable recon hover infantry STLs anywhere so I grabbed an old hoverbike infantry from Mechwarrior Dark Age and put it on a hex base (so the scale is off on that one)...
Over the weekend I got a couple friends to try Alpha Strike, and they decided to try Aces. So, running a second playthrough, but letting them do the decisions! This the force we made. Some notes: a) I printed the Madcat and Dasher on seperate sheets so we could have all the variants when we...
Exodia and DOT Mommies strike again in Memory of Chaos (to think Lygus scared me before...)
(Work in Progress)
Yes I absolutely bought a "Legendary Mechwarriors II" set for the sole purpose of painting the Charger in THIS color scheme.
I apologize for nothing.
Having completed HSR 4.0, I'll say that while the patch was as long as the Amphoreus patches (took me about 10 hours, more or less?) it felt like the pacing was a LOT better. Definitely a step in the right direction
(Despite all the utterly batshit insane content, as seen in the excerpt I posted)
The latest HSR story patch is MELTING MY BRAIN

!!!!!
After having the most HORRIBLE luck in ZZZ since... Well FOREVER, I go for a 10 pull to get a Yixuan Mindscape +after hitting hard pity, of course) and... SCORE A FRIGGIN' DOUBLE S RANK PULL? (ok they're not both Yixuan, but that means my next S pull will be guaranteed)
I swear it's like all my hatred for Koga back when I played Paladins got transferred over to that character.
But on the topic of free stuff coming in 4.0, I'm undecided on whether I should get Jing Yuan (since I don't have him) or upgrade my Acheron to E5
(watches the HSR 4.0 update program)
"We're making a new outfit for Ryan Mei!"
Don't care.
"And we're giving it away for free!"
They REALLY want to shove that bitch down my throat don't they. TOO FUCKING BAD, I STILL WON'T CLAIM EITHER THE OUTFIT OR THE FREE RUAN MEI THEY GAVE AWAY LAST YEAR.
...Were they even trying with this cycle's Apocalyptic Shadow? Letting me pick a Damage Over Time modifier for node 1 and a Memosprite Damage Buff on node 2 meant an easy no-brainer pick of the DOT Mommies for team 1 and Exodia for team 2
It's a small thing, but it winds me up immensely for no good reason (like with SS86 Megatron's fusion cannon design), when people transform Ultra Magnus and not push his elbows all the way up into his arms. C'mon guys! It just looks wrong, to hell with your personal opinions!
so I added it as well. This is a Ghost Bear force so naturally a Kodiak would be there. I'm not too sure about adding 2 squads of Elementals, but those can be deadly when paired with Omnis. Speaking of Omnis, all are bought in Prime config. Time to buy/print all the minis I don't have
And there we go. I had to assume force building rules will still be "take the base cost of units at skill 4" despite Clan forces technically being skill 3. Also, OF COURSE I'd take a Highlander. The Nova is a favourite of mine so it got added, and the Locust IIC was a BEAST in Scouring Sands...
Assuming it'll still be a 400pts force, I'll TRY and make a Rasalhague Dominion force in preperation of the eventual release, which will leave me plenty of time to get all minis (or print those that don't exist yet). Let's jump on the Master Unit List.
Ok so I really liked how Scorching Sands turned out for Battletech (I need to convince my gaming group to try it so I can live through another narrative path, heh) so I'm definitely getting Snowblind. It'll be a Joiners VS Deniers box, so Rasalhague Dominion themed.
Gonna have to try this with some of my gaming group to see which narrative paths they'll take
Apparently his was one of the endings as the track brought me to the epilogue, got the 'Plant Saved' ending! And for the record this was the final damage on my force (the Panther and the Merlin weren't part of the final assault), and this is the final roster for Roaring Thunder!
Aftermath: all 3 Mechs recovered, as well as successfully salvaged the Thunderbolt IIC, adding it to my force. Annie Thompson in the Highlander was injured, as was the unnamed pilot of the Warhammer. The Jade Phoenix's pilot didn't make it however.
With one turn left to spare. VERY tough start (losing the Highlander turn 1 HURT) bit damn this was fun. Off to the Aftermath
End turn 9, 1 Fulcrum retreats leaving the final one to fend off against the Archer as it limps away having suffered hits to its motive system (FINALLY lowering that damn TMN).The Archer moves in for a finishing blow and let's off a volley of missiles, destroying the last remaining Clanner! IT'S OVER
