Bell Fibe is down in the greater Toronto area, and much of the rest of Canada. This is as big as the July 2022 Rogers Blackout, except Bell Cellular still works.
Parkside Roadβs safety speed camera was attacked again! 4th one in about a year. I hope the fifth camera has better defences.
It seems to be true. It looks like PeePee has squandered one of the biggest polling leads in modern times.

Oddly, the Spadina Hotel was still around in the 1990s, before becoming a youth hostel by the late 1990s.
The Bloor Street Bike Lane extension west was well into planning five years ago, about two months before the COVID lockdowns. The lockdowns actually speeded up the process, somewhat. Today, there's some pushback, but generally are well used and accepted by the community.
Yeah, the reason I went with FulGaz is it doesn't feel like a game. It actually is immersive enough to feel like I am on the road. Some rides that were fondos with people waving riders, I'd forget that they weren't real and waved back. That's something that can't happen in Zwift.
Today, IRONMAN sold FulGaz, its virtual cycling app, to its chief competitor, ROUVY. IRONMAN laid off all the staff. FulGaz offered the best platform for almost realistic cycling, using videos shot in 4K UHDV on bicycles. You could virtually tour the world from within this platform. RIP FulGaz.
Well, if you were in Grade 13 in September 1985, and enrolled in the Toronto District School Board, your personal information was breached. That means this breach affects people as old as 59. www.tdsb.on.ca/home/ctl/Det...

Grey scale image of a newspaper page, pictured is a Caucasian male, Elon Musk, smiling in medium close up.
We are about two days away from Elon Musk having significant influence over the U.S. government when his beliefs seem to veer towards extreme right-wing policies and the politics of division, the _Toronto Star_ reports today.
The Jays front office is incompetent. This is only the most recent example of why.

The victim impact statement of the daughter of the couple killed on Parkside Dr., in THEIR CAR, because of a careless speeding driver. Totally preventable, but yet people are opposing simple measures as photo radar to reduce speeds. Only a road diet will fix this.

As expected, the FAA has ordered a mishap investigation for yesterdayβs Starship launch. As usual, the company that had the mishap will lead the investigation, in this case, SpaceX. Since they seem to know the likely cause of the RUD, and how to fix it, this maybe a quick investigation.
This is mostly privately financed. There is some NASA money involved, but hardly a waste. Remember, all the money is spent on Earth, not in Space.
SpaceX successfully launched the IFT-7 mission today. A few minutes later, they successfully captured Booster no. 14. However, ship 33 disintegrated over the Caribbean Sea at engine cut-off. Image credit: Everyday Astronaut.
For the most part, it won't happen. There are many, many ways to delay the removal from happening. It's a moot point if he loses the 2025 election, that wasn't supposed to happen this year.
Blue Origin's commentator, the same annoying person who commentates on the New Shepard flights, was terrible, especially compared to commentators on SpaceX launches or even NASA PAO.
Another gripe, they used imperial units for speed & altitude, when clearly, the flight controllers were using Metric.
Large rocket surround by launch tower and lightning deflection towers is consumed in a bright orange glow with exhaust smoke clouds in the background from the rocket's seven BE-4 rocket engines.
Congratulations Blue Origin on the successful maiden flight of their New Glenn orbital rocket. It adds another provider for the U.S. launch market.

I want the federal election in October because it is looking more likely that we'll have a provincial election in March or April. Elections Canada and Elections Ontario mostly use the same workers. We'll need a break between elections.
This Guardian article goes into the growing rift between traditional cyclists that use "acoustic" bikes versus people that rent e-bikes from Lime in London. But here in T.O., the issue is more a fight between food couriers on E-bikes and the traditional cyclists.

More proof that the Gig economy is _The Hunger Games_ made real. Today's _Toronto Star_ investigative report shows that Uber Eats makes food couriers virtually indentured slaves. The City of Toronto can fix this by making them employees with guaranteed wages.

My thoughts are with Michael Longfield, executive director of Cycle Toronto. Rode with him on Sunday for the Cycling Good Cheer ride.
We cycled most of Torontoβs Bloor Bike Lanes and down Yonge Street for the annual Good cheer Ride today.
