An album called “Steeldrums for Lovers” with very insane album art
Sometimes an album cover compels you to buy it in an almost primal way.

The thrilling conclusion to The Organizing Committee - have a listen!
And bonus points to Eryk for avoiding Spotify.
I knew it was absurd for computers to shout Situationist slogans about tech over noisy electropunk. The irony is intentional, like using (breaking) tech to critique tech. The natural evolution of a project “about AI” would be to use Gen AI, but the politics of the project make that impossible.
Today you can stream (or buy!) my final album as The Organizing Committee. The tension of fusing tech-critical approaches to the tech they critique (and fusing that to noise pop) is far less tenable since I started in 2020. Here’s more on it. (No AI, btw!).

My last record as The Organizing Committee drops on Sunday. “Keeping Secrets From the Numbers.” It’s a banger. No AI.
tori amos calling her new lp “in times of dragons” totally calls for a feat. john darnielle
On his full-length debut, the 20-year-old pop artist makes vague, melancholy music defined by big feelings and unsubtle influences.
well, that sure sounds like a review that didn't absolutely need to be written
sad to hear @troubleinmind.bsky.social is ending operations. they were a great little label.

New paper backs up what I & others have been saying for years, that “creativity” in image gen is a byproduct of noising / denoising. Calling it a remarkable discovery is strange to me! I go one further though: unwavering adherence to a process isn’t “creativity” at all. www.wired.com/story/resear...
chaotic good i guess?

*an idea for a really perfect novelty bluesky account appears* hmm it's too bad i'm not in it for the likes

Even after 27 years, @notype.com is still going strong! Plenty of the old catalogue is still available, and free to download too.
If you're writing/thinking about AI but you haven't been following Salvaggio's work, then no you're not.

as a sometime musician i only want & deserve inspired criticism 😇 but as a reader i like the wired option better because even when there's something antagonistic going, you might find yourself rooting for the music against the critic. (whereas with the tired dude it's all schadenfreude)
