..but if you're more, and/or differently experienced, and disagree, it's a battle.
Having to prove you're technical/know your stuff, time and time again, as new people roll through, or you head off hoping that "this time it'll be different".
I'm exhausted.
I don't know what else I'd do though.

25+ years on, I feel it's gotten worse. The leaky pipeline hasn't been patched.
The greasy pole. The narrow-mindedness on what a career path, or goals should be.
It's all passable - great while you're making someone else look good, or "agreeable"...

Hej and hoi from the Netherlands.
I spent my early years reading older British English books (vintage Enid Blyton), so Hallo; which still works in Dutch and German.

In parts of NL the limit is 130km/h (from 19h until 6h the next day).
@ministraitor.bsky.social's speed on a DE autobahn is normally based on if the car has winter or summer tyres, & if I am in the car or not. (I generally OK if the roads are quiet), and of course 'fun' with roadworks.

We've invented service accounts all over again. MCP servers are quietly becoming the same overprivileged, under-monitored access brokers that have haunted enterprise security for years. Except this time, ...

a neighbour had a smart hub thing installed in his attic by an engineer to control outdoor lights. worked great until the app randomly logged him out, and he just can't get back in no matter what. his lights have been powered off for like 12 months

Western Hemisphere...that's us here in Europe isn't it?
It's going to be more shenanigans around Greenland, and "dealing" with Spain and any other country who doesn't do what TPTB in the USA want.

Being at secondary school in the 90s, the gay teachers were gossiped about, school friends who were gay didn't come out, "jokes" were made about certain sports.
S28 was still in place until 2003, and had a chilling effect. Hearing how some people talk about trans folks is far too reminiscent.

Oh, it's Channel 5.
(sorry, probably sound a massive snob, but thought unlikely to be the Beeb or C4)

Trying to get his travel companions describe the views and help him navigate the places, while experiencing this differently to sighted people. I hope they do more.

It really pissed me off that anti-trans activists spend all their time saying trans women are just confused gay men AND that they’re sexual predators who want to assault women. It doesn’t make any f***ing sense.

An upcoming California law requires operating system providers to enforce basic mandatory age verification
It's basic, and by the looks of it, near unenforceable.
A new California law says all operating systems, including Linux, need to have some form of ID verification (which they’re calling age verification) at account setup.
This makes absolutely ZERO sense if you have even the most basic understanding of technology

NVMe Base Case for Raspberry Pi 5
A sleek, folded aluminium case that will accommodate a Raspberry Pi 5 plus an NVMe Base or NVMe Base Duo.
You're welcome. Would the Pimoroni case work, or is there a hat + the NVMe? shop.pimoroni.com/products/nvm... The last user picture shows them using the case with multiple cables to internal boards not via ports, and I think on the official pic the pins are visible. Good luck.

The IP they want to give away is owned by British taxpayers and earns for the exchequer. Giving it to firms that will mainly be overseas, and usually in tax exile, is fucking idiotic.
