Social clubs are a vital infrastructure that has preserved and developed variety entertainment for generations, and provides crucial opportunities for working-class performers to break into the cultural and creative industries.
Equity members, activists and the arts community of Northern Ireland came together last night at The MAC Belfast to fight for the future of arts in NI and #ResistThecuts to funding. Thanks to everyone who came along and has supported the campaign and to The MAC for having us!
We are in contact with ITV about the planned reduction of soap episodes.
We will defend continuing drama and campaign to secure the long-term future of these programmes which are so crucial to the health of UK production.
