Funny - I learned I didnβt like the coding as much as the story telling and creation aspect and wound up focusing more on essentially DMing
I started on TrekMOO and eventually wound up as a god on a MUD, in part because I knew a guy who knew a guy, but also because I programmed the weirdest shit, like objects that would record people in a room

Iβm going to add - and age myself a bit - that the first computer I paid for with *my own* money was a CompuAdd 80286 12.5MHz system with a 40MB HDD, 1MB RAM, 14β VGA monitor, single 3.5β floppy, and a Panasonic KX-1180i 9-pin dot matrix printer that got me through college. Paid $2100 including tax.
